Hi mate , they shipped me a kit of 5 shims of all different thickness , i should verify with my caliper but i used the thickest one , my burrs touche around 4 and im curently grindind between 15-20 and i do grind extremly fine , usualy dosing like 15-16g in a B.E.P hi extraction basket . I really enjoye the taste better like this than having a very hi dose like i used to do ( like 23g in a tripple basket 😅) . Hope it help , i always like replying to questions👍

@@The_Coffee_Rabbit_Hole Thank you for review! Why did you go with edge + vs edge? Is this because you need bigger capacity and faster grind? Also, I am curious about your thoughts on manual lever Chinese unit with PID that you have on the background? Do you like it? How is the temperature stability? I've been back and forth on alibaba with people that sell it, trying to get video of pulling shots without music on the background, but they do not have it :).

@@lodeyla my pleasure ! The Edge+ have larger burrs ( same as niche 0 ) and a larger motor than the edge . As for the ALM KOPI machine its the best machine i ever used by very fare and i had a few 😅 . I even own a flair 58 at work but i really preffer the ALM KOPI , it have a much larger heat mass , its all stainless, the fit and finish i fantastic , all parts from the group head are E61 compatible ... its just a joy to pull shot with it . I believe its even better than the Streitman machines . You might want to reach ALM KOPI , they are based in thailand , they might have better price . I paid around 800CAD for it plus 40CAD of custome import fees

Thanks for uploading this! Shame about the cup not fitting the 58mm portafilter. I think I'll give this grinder a shot while waiting for my 078s. I see you're also in Canada! Did you have to pay any duties for the grinder on arrival?

Thanks for the feedback , yes i think i paid 24CAD of duty fees , the seller is smart and under value the value of the grinder on the custom paper . The shipping was also very fast .

How's the manual lever? Do you prefer it to the flair 58? I'm using the flair but often find that it would need to reach higher temperature or doesnt keep the temp really stable, how is the PID?

@@The_Coffee_Rabbit_Hole Life is different for sure. You give up a lot of the comforts and conveniences of the west for a cheaper retirement. It's funny. Many things can be more expensive here like electronics and much of the food for one. Cars are cheaper. China being closer, I think "some" of the import taxes are less. Most of the population can't afford high prices which I believe make many things a lower retail price than the US. Other like things I can buy on Amazon US if it has free shipping.
