I had several Morris Minor vans during the 1970's/1980's, even one that was badged with the Austin marque. The last one I had was an ex Post Office van, sold for £40 which was about the going rate at the time. My dad had an arrangement with a local garage to buy in Minors that had been part exchanged, he would pay £30 for two providing they were in good condition with long MOT's. He would sell them on for £50 each. I no longer (sadly) have a van but instead have a 1960 2 door saloon, very nice but I do miss my van. Very interesting video Becca, love your content.

Sounds like your Dad had a fantastic deal going withthe local garage! I do htink a van would be a perfect compliment to a saloon, perhaps you need to keep your eyes peeled for one! Thanks for watching!

Hi Becca I’m lucky to own what was my father’s van which he restored and was used for my daughter’s wedding too. Our van doesn’t parp but the travellers do. Lovely to hear about your use of the club van. ❤

Oh interesting that your van doesn't parp! I'd definitely have to try before I buy then if I was going to get one 😂

Thanks for sharing Becca. I had a Land Rover Series IIA that got used in an American TV movie that was filmed in NZ back in the late 80s. It makes that the vehicles more interesting with that kind of history. It's a shame that the van was kept the way it was in the movie as that was part of its history. My Land Rover was a pickup which had its cab removed and was painted matte black for filming. It later got repainted light grey again afterwards. 😊👍

I would love a van as my next project, or a pickup. How is Peggy coming on?

A van or pick up would be great! Peggy doing well, we're in the finishing straight for sure!

Has the differential been changed as it seems surprising that it can cruise at 60 comfortably as they are usually so low geared?
@passengerseatpodcast6 ай бұрын
Not it's not been touched. I've found a lot of people think they can only sit at 50ish, but actually if you push to 60 it'll often be quieter and happier 🤷

Ahh that's interesting, thanks.

The Borrowers, What a badly named movie, they didn't borrow, they stole.
@passengerseatpodcast6 ай бұрын
They did borrow 35 odd morris minors for the making of it though 🤷🤣🤣
