44:26 Actually, you can play around it by only bringing the last cat back once the oven untaps, on your upkeep for the next turn. This way you're never vulnerable and always get full value for your cat!

Back in january i used to be #40 mythic. I feel so satisfied... Then, the season ended, i did not classify for a tournament, and i get back to platinum, i get mad with the game and stopped playing. Then, i finally hit bronze bottom. I cant believe how hard it was from me the transition from gold to platinum, it seems like in there, is just a bunch of VERY tryhards, cuz from platinum to diamond was very "meh", all players using mono red or azorius, so my new golgari aggro could work wonders. I just wanted to tell my history, ikoria is one of those sets where my love for the game grows again. But. Until we dont have the rotations out, im still gonna despise ranked rn.

Im just playing ranked to gold 4, then only play unranked and limited for the exact same reason. hopefully the meta will change with rotation later this year.

@@stefanoriva9767 I don't think that its almost impossible, but it is to much grind right now, at least for me. It took me 5 days to go to platinum 4 from Gold 4 two seasons ago. That's more than double the time i needed to go from bronze to gold, and you mostly play against the same decks over and over again, its not enjoyable for me to go higher than gold.

You are confusing OMD and OMC (and messing up the order of OMD). OMC had the song How Bizarre. OMD is mostly known for the eighties hit Enola Gay (but had more songs that did some stuff in the charts like Maid of Orleans and Electricity). OMD stands for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. OMC is, as far as I know, a one hit wonder and it stood for something (a place I think, I'm stuck on Ottawa, but I don't think they were Canadian) Millionaires Club. Really enjoyed you playing this deck. It struck me how you dislike playing this deck, as I had a similar feeling finally playing a Simic flash recently. Yes, it's effective. No, I just don't enjoy it. I really enjoy Lurrus and trying several builds around it however. It just reminded me that even if we can complain a lot about broken decks or broken cards (and I think we probably tend to protest too much every now and then), there are several different playstyles for different tastes that, even if they aren't always top-tier, are effective, worthy of one's time and brewing capabilities.

IMO, this thing _might_ be better in Orzhov. You give up Kroxa, yes. But you get access to a gazillion exile spells, Cruel Celebrant for even moar pings, and... Mortify. Low-key MVP in this meta. Besides, Kroxa is a bit of a nonbo with all the graveyard interaction here. Also, Gruesome Menagerie can get you back in a very spectacular fashion from wipes, but I might tone it down a bit from the 4x I run right now, it's a tad pricey if the priest is already dead and Call of the Death-Dweller seems more flexible.

My personal adjustments to the deck are a Mountain out for a Call of the Death-Dweller, and the two Rix-Maadi Reveler for Mire Tritons. Still a work in progress. And yes, I only played it in Ranked. (Similar to the auto-scoop anecdote, I do the same thing in free play when I see a Sphinx Scry trigger)

Edit: Just realized Leyline does not stop Gyruda because of the way the card is worded, but seems like Lurrus is a bigger problem anyway! Another way to do this is playing board wipes and using kayas ghost form to keep a lurrus who can't be exiled or destroyed this, sort of more of a commander playbook but it works. just swing in to empty boards all day long.

Hushbringer turns off most of the direct life loss in the deck. Throw in hound of athreos and you’ve got this deck shut down. Throw in frogify and you’ve even shut down priest.

See, the big thing about cat oven is you have to understand if you're playing with an aggressive cat or a defensive cat. Aggressive cats you bring back on end step. Defensive cats you bring back when you're declaring blockers.

How I hate to play vs this deck, I also just concede when I face it in unranked. But when you cant beat them, join them. Made t his deck with a couple of cards still missing and its alot of fun to play. Had a mirror match vs Gincheru in ranked was able to pull out a win after a LONG game. Thanks for the help. Edit: Grafdigger's Cage is the fix vs this deck, time to get some Artifact removal.

I am loving my Rakdos Sacrifice with 4 Nightmare Shepherd and 4 Bastion Redemption. I use the scorpion, lazotep, and grim initiate instead of cat oven though. It's like the alorzhov aristocrats with mothra which I also love haha. Bastion is one of my favorite cards from the new set

I've had pretty good success against this deck with Reid Duke's Umori mono black devotion deck. Lots of lifegain to offset the damage from this deck and it also deals "unstoppable" passive damage itself. And is super fun to play! Yes, you can just run 4 in the deck and don't have to meet the requirements for the companion.
