Pride and ego are the main obstacle in spirituality. It prevents us from going to God and surrendering ourselves to the divine. So to overcome the clutches of pride and ego ,we should practice devotion, surrender our mind and intellect completely to God whatever challenge may come and always think that God is the doer, He is our father and He has given everything to us. Without His grace we cannot do anything. All my progress is due to His grace and all failures are due to my own fault. By doing this we can experience true humility and lead a harmonious and fulfilling life.

Pride is ugly. We are not the doers, God provides energy to do it. God sits in our soul gives us energy. If God leaves our soul for fraction of second, we would become inert. Our life cease to exist. If everything energy, intellect provided by God. What do we feel proud of? Story of Narayanastra and Aruni I have never heard before. Vigorous Narayanastra pacified by surrendered souls. God loves humbleness it had been proven by above story. Powerful king Raghu words are inspirational. We came to this world empty handed, what is ours to give someone. Pride leads to fall , not to God . Pride is our greatest enemy . It may come in the form of possessin - arrogance or performance - arrogance. We can overcome this enemy by developing humility , because humility will lead to surrender .The episode narrated by Swamiji about Guru Drona , Pandavas , and the narayan ashtra illustrates that we must develop humility to ascertain that whatever we possess is a blessing of God ; whatever we perform is the doing of God , without His blessing we are nowhere .Remaining ever grateful to God for everything we have is a form of gratitude .
