Lomberg and Pospisil are going to be an absolute menace.

This might be a bigger signing than it comes across as at first glance. Talk about a mentor for the Flames youth. This guy is a warrior, and still young himself.

This was my second favorite signing after the Sharangovich extension. Ryan's awesome and will annoy the Oilers greatly

We'll miss the Lomberghini on the Panthers. This dude is the best. Very sad to lose him but glad it was the Flames. Take good care of our boys Huberdeau, Weegar, and now Lomby and we promise to take good care of Chucky and Bennett. Go Cats! Go Flames!

GREAT SIGNING Craig. He'll be great for Pospisil. I can hardly wait to see the two hitting duo perform. They'll clear the way for Parekh on his way to Calgarys first rookie of the year since Makarov way way back in 1990. Keep up the great work Craig.

I love Lomberg as a Panthers fan. But I can’t believe Flames actually paying 2mil for a guy who’s usually a healthy scratch for the Panthers.

Darn, man. I was hoping to get some clarity as to why Lomberg chose to leave the Panthers for Calgary, of all places. I love Lomberghini. His big energy shifts were a big part of team culture on the Cats. He was awesome, so this is no diss. It just feels like he's not really telling the truth about why he left an A+++ organization that was basically a Cup winning group of brothers, with a chance to repeat or even threepeate. Plus there's the awesome weather, no state taxes, awesome nightlife, culture and beaches for miles. I'm a born and raised Albertan and there are good points to Calgary as a city but nowhere near as many as Miami. There are good points to the Flames organization, too but again, nowhere near as many as the Panthers. Calgary is cold and sterile. Nearly cultureless, minus the Stampede angle. The Canadian dollar is brutal. Taxes are 45%. Housing prices are twice what they should be, which means they're a losing investment. The Flames may never win a Cup again, that's how not-far-along they are in their "rebuild". The culture of the team is one in which every major player over the past 2-3 years has wanted to leave. It seems pretty crazy that Lomberg would want to actively want to return to Calgary. I think he's just probably giving a canned answer because what's he going to say? The only possible reason he'd seek out this current situation HAS to be that he's getting more money... but... is it really all that much more after taxes? Maybe a little bit still... The other thing I can think of is that he will be a bigger fish in a smaller pond, in terms of Calgary is a terrible team so he might be relied upon for a bigger role with more ice time. He might even crack the third line. It still doesn't explain why he chose frozen Cowtown over other possible destinations. But maybe there wasn't any other choice. It was the 4th line at $800,000 in Florida or $2 million plus taxes and third line minutes in Calgary.

The only reason he’s not in Florida because we couldn’t afford him not because he wants to play in Calgary,
