I found that using the content validation as in this video means that when a participant enters their age, an error comes up saying "The value must be less than or equal to 2". I ended up removing content validation and using skip logic to take participants who entered a number less than 18 to the end of the survey. Maybe Qualtrics has changed how content validation works since you made this video, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Dear Dare, Good tutorial, thank you for the effort. You got one thing wrong with the video though. The age validation minimum and maximum you are entering 2, that is not the number of digits it is the actual value. So if you enter 2 in minimum and maximum the only value you could enter in that box will be "2" any other values will not get validated. You should have used minimum as 18 and maximum as 99. Cheers!

My version of Qualtrics looks different from the one you are using. I am trying to copy and paste information from a word document (participation information section) however, there is no option to paste in Qualtrics? Is this because I was supposed to click thefrom a file option, as it keeps stating it is not a supported file. I didn't see that you clicked the from a file option yet you was still able to copy and paste from word.

There are major differences between a paid and free version of Qualtrics - that could be the factor. For free for example, you can't use JavaScript.

This was a great video! I am a grad student TA and I used this video to help me do a demo for my students. I have one question, about the what is your age question minimum and maximum. Is the 2 the number of digits. Some of my student were telling me it had to do with age limit.

Hi! Great to hear that this tutorial was helpful! Your students are correct, "two" is referring to the number of digits. Since the minimum age allowed was 18, we knew that the person had to at least enter two characters, and we figured no one would be over 99 years old so that's why the max count was also set at two :)
