I'm amazed by the clarity of this message. I find myself thinking about my life and how this message so perfectly applies. From the Word itself and your breakout explanations, I was truly blessed. Within my four years of being saved and my struggle to study and comprehend God's Word, I look forward to watching more of these videos. God truly bless this man of God and this ministry.

I feel uneasy anytime I read a chapter in which the Lord orders the killing of babies. Thank you for the background on why He gave those orders, you really have explained it well. But I’m not going to lie, I don’t feel confident in properly discussing subjects as these with non-believers. I’ve been asking for spiritual wisdom and guidance, because I want the ability to answer the difficult questions in order to properly witness. Thank you for your teachings ❤️

I am so grateful for your teaching. The Lord placed on my heart to choose for my weekly Bible Study to women at he Rescue Mission, (in San Diego), on obedience. After reading 1 Samuel 15, as always, I listened to your teaching on it, and go so much more pit of it! Loved the insight on the Amalekites, and either was not aware, or forgot, that there was a 20 year gap between the Lord--via Samuel-- choosing David, and he being crowned. No wonder Saul chased him all those years! Thank you Pastor Paul. If you and Sue ever come to San Diego, I'd love to show you around. (Or perhaps you've been here a time or two?)

15:15 - 2 Samuel chapter 24 verse 24 "But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” In this scripture, we see David's desire to sacrifice at a cost for a lot of land which is a foreshadow of Jesus' precious and costly sacrifice of His own life at the cross. David purchased the lot of land at a price in which, in the future, his son Solomon will go on to build the First Temple on. Similarly, at the cross, Jesus purchases back creation, and in doing so, obtained the right for that same lot. One day, on this same lot the new Heavenly Temple will come down from heaven and will reside on this spot. All scripture speaks more about Jesus' profound work at the cross than our works for christ. I think it is always the case of wanting to do works for God over wanting to do the work of the holy spirit.

27:00 - God calls us for sanctification and holiness in preparation for Christ's return. The Hebrew writer calls us to move on from repentance. We do however, on a mirco level, walk in the light as He is in the light daily. He cleanses us into the calling of being more Christ like.

Hello Pastor Paul. Thank you so much for your teachings. I have learned so much through your ministry. I do have a question though. In chapter 15 God says he is sorry he ever made Saul king. It even uses the word “regret”. I’m honestly just trying to understand why God “regrets”. God who knows all so how can he regret?

J The regret is subjective God might be talking about the predestination argument hoping that Saul would follow his commands fully off his free will choice but he makes the mistake of not following the commands Saul was probably turned by the devil or pride for he denied God and erected a statue to himself and told Samuel that they didn’t slaughter all for they kept some for sacrifice to your(Samuel) God not our God so he (Saul) had rejected God and God had to reject him also that might be the regret. (My opinion).
@aleonard5359
@aleonard5359 3 жыл бұрын
@@nicm1280 Saul is a parallel to Lucifer and his fall from grace due to pride. I'm not really sure why Saul was selected, but I think that in the beginning he had a humble spirit. That humility was later destroyed by pride....just like Lucifer before he was thrown out of heaven. God is sovereign and all knowing so he had to have known Saul would not be faithful. Maybe he chose him only because the people desperately wanted a king - they had gotten impatient with God and whined and begged for a king to rule over them. God gave them one maybe to teach them to trust Him ( think about Sarah's impatience after God's promise)...or maybe this ordeal was God's way of bringing about His will and His prophecies of the king of kings Jesus Christ. Maybe also it was God's way of illustrating that we need to rely on His perfect judgement- Saul was really the people's choice and he looked the part of a king, but God knew his heart ALL along. David would not have been selected by the people because he didn't look like a king (He was just a young boy to the eyes of the people probably) but God saw David's heart - a perfect example of what the Lord says later on in the story. God's word is amazing! He is the master designer and master teacher.

no we arent . its called grace cause its undeserved . Remember God died for sinners for ppl who were under his wrath \. we dont deserve what jesus did on the cross rather its beacuse of his love and his grace that he sent his son to die for the world FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD remember ? its just the character of God , loving , faithful and merciful. we dont deserve anything right

buboy jerus The Amalekites harassed the Hebrews during their Exodus from Egypt and attacked them at Rephidim near Mount Sinai, where they were defeated by Joshua. They were among the nomadic raiders defeated by Gideon and were condemned to annihilation by Samuel. Their final defeat occurred in the time of Hezekiah.
