In a bathroom once I was overcome with surrender because of a relationship that I should have walked away from long before, and at this exact moment I finally cried out to God and told Him I couldn't live like this anymore. Yes, wives AND husbands are to follow this verse in Ephesians. It’s a beautiful marriage if this is followed by both parties. However, there are so many other factors involved as well. This verse is not to be used to keep a person in an abusive situation. The Bible also said in the old testament to stone women who were adulterers. Jesus did not stone the woman who the Jewish rulers brought to Him. Mercy and love prevail.
