Bible study from 1 Samuel 30:1-20
‘Have you lost everything - everything will be returned’
David and his people came to Ziklag on the third day. Amalekites burned it and taken captive the women and all.
David had the mental strain of being sent back by Achish, three days of travel fatigue, unexpected loss seen on return, the grief of losing a loved one and more than all these the people spoke of stoning him.
David was greatly distressed and wept until they had no more strength to weep.
We may also go through these types of situations in our life.
Bible says but David brought back all. How?
1. Take courage in God in your worries. David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
2. Seek the face of God in need. David brought the ephod and enquired of the Lord.
3. Seek God’s will in confusion. David asked “shall i pursue after this band? Shall i overtake them?”
4. Make adversity an opportunity. They found an Egyptian on the way and helped him. He showed the way to amalekites and David recovered all.
