I’m decluttering now…My oldest grandson (he is 34) and his girlfriend live with me…she says that I need to finish one thing at a time. It is so hard for me to focus and finish one thing at a time…I love watching you and learning how to get organized…

I agree with her, you need to finish one thing at a time or you will never finish at all. Even if you don’t finish that day, always go back to it and finish whether it’s the next day or next week. Thank you so much!!

Yes!! Your square 1 vs square 2 analogy is Dana K White’s “container concept”. You can keep ANYTHING you want, but you just can’t keep everything! Once your container reaches its capacity, YOU 👏🏽 MUST 👏🏽 DECLUTTER 👏🏽

Oh wow I’ve never heard of her. I need to check her out but she’s is absolutely RIGHT.

@@juditheorganizer you should! She is the go-to decluttering person for people who always struggle with clutter or deal with overthinking how to declutter. Her website, podcast, and blog are called A Slob Comes Clean.

This is a great strategy to help my husband clean out and organize our garage. When we moved here 2 years ago a lot landed in there and has lived there ever since. Not sure which approach will work best, he also has a shed full of tools and bringing all the tools together might be the best approach to start then tackle the littler spaces. He has so many duplicates and items he took from his dad and you're right, it's a huge emotional energy drain. We will definitely benefit from today's video. We start right after Christmas because the lawn tractor needs put away and the snow blower needs to be accessible. Should have started sooner but work and finishing an inside project took priority. Tfs!

Wow Judi!! You spoke nothing but the truth. Having an organized space starts with removing those things that no longer serve a purpose in your life.

I just found your channel and subscribed! I love how you explain things in such a calm and easily understandable way! English is not my native language so I really appreciate this very much! 🥰 I moved to a studio apartment couple of years ago and did a huge declutter then, but I need to do a smaller one anyways. I still have stuff that I thought that I would need, but haven't actually used them at all while I've been living here. I'm going to start right after Christmas! Greetings from Finland and happy holidays to you and your family! 🙂🎄❤

i do have an issue with clutter as my "spouse" hogs the whole storage shed. I am sorry about your loss with hurricaine Ike. I lost 80 percent of my stuff in a flood during hurricaine Irene. Sadly, this has had the opposite effect on me and I cant let things go of things that I know I should. The other thing we have in common is growing up we had 5 in our family in a very small house. There were 2 small bedrooms though, but just not enough space. My mother used to be in charge of throwing my stuff out so she didn't allow much clutter. My daughter is the same way. I guess it skipped a generation. I dont have the clutter I see on these hoarder shows, though, thank God!! Thanks for the video, I just subscribed and looking forward to your next!

Thanks for the moment I load two lorry 🚛 to the waste industry. I hired contractors. I was left with 1/2 lorry. I still have to declutter this load (clothes and papers). I will do the likes I like versus the likes I don’t care. First sort out was clothes that don’t fit anymore.

Very helpful! Good idea to have multiple approaches for your unwanted items. I will add shelters to my list of options. For books I like to use Little Free Library locations 📚

You lost me when you said you can't have to much stuff in space.
@juditheorganizer3 жыл бұрын
Lol you can’t unless you have the space for it or outside storage.
