Awesome childhood memories! Hey surreal, if you combine units then the total used command points will decrease allowing you to make more units. Example: two crossbow units combine to make a big froggin crossbow unit. If one already has upgrades then the combined units will have upgrades.

I don't actually like combining troops like crossbows plus uruks because the uruks won't attack when combined with a crossbow tho I know they would attack if an enemy is very close to them like cavalry for example but I can just build pikemans to destroy those cavalry or buy armor upgrades for the crossbow lol.

Pro-tip: with the Evil factions you can essentially cheese your units experience by exploiting the Cannibalism ability. If you hang back and have your units kill each other to one man each, you can get them levelled twice in each mission extremely easily. By the time of Helm's Deep, you can have almost every unit maxed to level 10. Granted you can do the same with the Good factions, but it's entirely dependent on your enemies producing troops to kill (unless you have heroes with abilities to train them).

As evil you get a lot of money from lumber caps that drawl back is that it costs command points to have them there. Also you want about 50 command points left over for siege engines because they do not carry over on maps. Also to combine troops you need to select one unit and hover over the troop you want to combine it with then ether right or left click on them I can’t remeber which one exactly. One last thing as I’m sure you have noticed the tower on the first map is indestructible

Build furnaces, they lower the cost of upgrades. Also you have no need for slaughter houses since you can't build wargs anyway.

Evil faction. Banners are a must for obvious reasons of rank up, and puts in "new recruits" when you have lost units in a group. If I remeber correctly bloodthirsty also heals your uruks/orcs. Same with trolls grabbing orc. Unless you want seige equipment, I'd suggest getting slaughter houses more than furnaces. The eye of Sharon btw is like the palentir but you can move around the map to spy, but you also know that it buffs your troops as well! Beserkers, they're fun, but i dun think they're worth the trouble of continuously getting troops from the pits to rank up, just to get them...unless, you want to put them up on ladders or blow up the mines (you'll see in the future ~_^) surreal my friend, I'm so glad you enjoy this game. I would loooooooove to see you play bfme ii. Since you love elves and dwarves. It's really fun, and in my opinion, unique with a lot of changes. ^-^ keep ruling Middle-Earth oh Dark Lord Surreal.

I would definitively advise you to try out BfMEII if you enjoyed this one. In my opinion, II takes all the things 1 did well and makes them even better. Also, the Campaigns are a lot more interesting and diverse.

So I know I’m late to the party but in this level there is a way to go over your command limit. Use the blood thirsty on a unit and before the last unit is killed. Run away do this till your unit gets to level two. Then use the units with one or two soldiers to start attacking the lvl 2 unit. Let them revive and rinse repeat. Get all the Uruk-hai warriors to level two and get your army huge on the first level

Surreal,when you play Isengard i suggest you to build more fornaces in the main camp because the Isengard's tactic normally is made a huge infantry army full equipped,and the fornaces give you a reduce of the upgrates cost.Than make the fornaces all in one side because it will be usefull when you will have the power of resourses :)

So I'm writing this after only half the video so if you figure this out later on: my bad but try reading what it says on a building before building it, the furnce makes your upgrades cheaper, and the slaughter houses your wags cheaper, since you can't get any wags in the early game build the furnces not the slaughter houses Also you might wanna work on splitting up your army, dont move five units when you only need to move 1, like when at the black gates you need to pull back one hero who had low health and you moved all your heros, don't fall so much in love with the gruppe system that you forget that you can move induvidual units also when you have all your upgrades from your armory you can demolish it and build a furnces in it's place, it's not like a market place where you need to have it to retain it's bonus also since you're going to have a good econ with your bonus you don't need lumber camps as they cost you command points furnce > slaughter house > lumber mill also one pit should be enough for you most of the time seeing as you start every battle with an army

this might be different in the original one but as i remember in 2 if you have a banner carrier for a group they would recruit more troops for there squad over time when out of combat [and maybe in combat but i'm less sure]

zulu style to me would be the best to use with uruks.. pikeman should attack with a bull horn formation, with the center a bit behind the flanks while the crossbow as usual, a bit behind in a semicircle formation. This tactic should be used having the infantry on 3 different key, left flank, center and right flank. while the crossbow simply two (three would be better) Lastly, a single fast unit is needed to reinforce eventual loosing position or simply to skirmish-resist a bit until you have your formation.

The loss of Saruman may well have been the event most responsible for the fall of the people of Middle Earth. The Wisest and most powerful of the five Wizards of sent to aid its people had realise upon his taking of the Plantier that an alliance with Saruon could benefit him incredibly he made the designs to aid The Lord of The Rings . To prove his worth the Lord of The White Hand took to using his magical talents to create a new army the greatest in the history of Middle Earth. using his magics he created the Urak-hai huge iron clad monsters with all the marshal ability of Uruks but none of the disloyalty or cowdice. They also where totally loyal to Saruman but not his new master. Yet Saruman was faced with an issue of logistics his base in Isenguard lack the resources needed to equip his Iron legion. so with that he took to Fangorn Forest and burned it in the flames of industry. The Ents foolish as they where attempted to stop the unstoppable and there bodies became kindling. with his resources secured Saruman sent the first Urak-Hai Lurts to hunt the ring and bring it to him. he did this partly to reclaim the Ring for his master and partly to test his new creations against a true foe. they performed well slaying most of the remaining fellowship and capturing tow Halflings. that said the ring escaped but no matter its recapture was now inevitable.

@@SurrealBeliefs You don't actually spam with Isengard. Better to upgrade a few units ASAP than pump them out all at once. Uruk-hai are not expendable but actually decimate the elite units of Good when kept alive Orc Archers + Men of Rhun/Easterling for Mordor + Trolls Its like playing Terran and Protoss on the Starcraft campaigns Spam tactics are less viable in Game 2. Even Mordor has its Elite units revamped to make the faction less spammy

Looks like you need to give some thought as to what tactics you should employ in the evil campaign because at the moment no-one is getting any veterancy.

That's why as Evil you should always sit back for a bit at the start of every mission and abuse Cannibalism. That way you build up XP on your melee units while you can have your heroes, ranged and whatever else farm levels by themselves. It doesn't male for great gameplay, but if you don't, by the late game you'll be destroyed by level 10 Gondorians.
