I know, and I think most people know, that the A minor scale is A - B (2) - C (1) - D (2) - E (2) - F (1) - G (2) - A (2). I also know, and I also think most people know, that all other minor scales are transpositions of the A minor scale. So, I did not feel that learned much in this video.

I take the major scale, and either drop 3 flats, or add 3 sharps. For example, f major has 1 flat, so I take away the flat and add 2 sharps.

Isn't this this the Dorian diatonic scale? I thought the natural minor scale (Aeolian) was 2122212. This is a genuine question, I'm still learning.

Err.. To my ear, that piano is somewhat in need of tuning. (When you own an electric type piano [Clavinova].. you really can tell when an instrument using strings is not bang on!)

I have a question, as a beginner, learning piano theory and trying to also play, do I have to memorize all the major and minor scales? I learnt notes places interverals etc, shall I continue to learn circle of 5ths and chords etc or start practising the scales and hand movementa?

Yeah get the circle of fifths down. Importantly the order of sharps and flats. It will help tremendously. You’ll be able to name any scale in an instant (almost)

Yeah probably. The natural minor is just a mode of the major scale.
