This is a vintage electric pencil sharpener, made by National Japan. I bought this device from a Japanese recycle shop for only $ 1. It does not work anymore, but the mechanics inside are still in good condition. I decided to turn it into a rechargeable device. I'm really satisfied with the results I did.

It obvi what @gearshow meant. @adeeb momen No need to point out things like this. You commenting on an obvious language translation error is gratuously petty.

@adeebmomen4541 3 жыл бұрын
@@troyna77 it’s not really a translation error when it literally said “dull” on the original sticker. I’m just pointing out that dull and drill have different meanings. And because he went the extra effort to print a brand new sticker in the first place!

That’s the best sharpener I have ever seen. Most leave little pieces of wood on the pencil somewhere. And I thought you would have to sharpen that roller. Sweet job. Also the conversion was the best.

You should not sharpen pencils and color pencils with the same sharpener. Colored pencils are made of wax and pencils are made of graphite. Using both in the same sharpener is bad for the mechanism.

12:50 think you mean "dull", which is the opposite of sharp, not "drill" :) I don't think there are pencil sharpeners made with a setting to just eat up the entire thing, it's probably to get a thicker end point on the pencil, for thicker lines (oh no I just realised you made a label for it too xD)

It should be called 'Sharpener cleaning', as in fact you did NO restoration at all. You didn't even remove scratches from the body, to say nothing of blade sharpening. And the most strange thing is that you show the worn, full of scratches body close up in the end! Bad job. Imho.

I dont think that little button is gonna take it enough for it to have a useful life. Motor is propably sucking a lot of amps through that poor little button. There are microswitches that can fit the box but which can swallow atleast 1A. Otherwise there is small relays (that can fit somewhere else in box where there is space) that you could wire along with the button. Dont forget the flyback diode then, so the back-EMF don't eat up that little poor button.

It was always the original name of the company and was used as the home brand, but as the international export brand name Panasonic became world recognized, the home brand National was retired to consolidate recognition.
