@@IBandAndyFishing That is true! But I was asking a genuine question as it divides opinion. I fished with one myself this week on Don in Sheffield but river keeper on Derwent above Haddon does not classify as nymph or allow members to use them. Have never been sure if we could use them on Wye or not.

I guess if you wanted to go entomological then no, it isn't an invertebrate so not a true nymph in the scientific term. You'd be hard pressed to find any bright pink shrimps, red tagged Baetis or heptagenids with shiny gold heads either so I think our comes down to where you draw your own personal line. There's no doubt small worms are a huge food source for fish though. The river keeper has seen me use them plenty, so no not banned!
