This should have been titled, "Why you shouldn't rapidly increase intensity and volume." Thanks for the education 👍

That looked viscously rough. Well done for completing it. If your FTP doesn't go up, recalibrate the power meter until it does - you earned it💪

Jamie, considering the world has gone dis-brake crazy, can you please sponsor me with that pair of Mavic Ksyriums on the wall behind you? Thanks in advance!

Haha these ones have had a hard life, not much left on those braking surfaces!

Great video Jamie, you really worked hard and I think you should be proud! Love the Reflex racing kit! Would love to ride with you and Road CC guys one day! Doing a “Come and meet” ride event one day? We’d all pay!

Im a new cyclist. Im 6ft2 , 93kg, so need to lose weight for cycling, as im finding it hard. How important are easy rides, especially for new cyclists?? My problem is i go out for a cycle, and because i feel like i need to push, i push myself each session. Im a slow cyclist (21kph) and i know ineed to lose weight to find cycling easier. Should i be doing loads of handy easy rides?? Where im not breathing hard at all??

Is it just me or does his saddle height look too high? From behind hips look to be rocking to reach the bottom of the pedal stroke each side

He seems to do that wherever we put his saddle! ...A proper bike fit is coming

People get hung up on hitting all the targeted values in a training session. They are designed to push you and you shouldn't be hitting them all the time 100% if you are then it is too easy. Fantastic video this one lucky bugger getting to escape the real world a pretend to be a pro for a week and top up the tanlines! well done

How much time do you recommend between the sets of 15 min at 90% FTP? Thanks
@edmorgan2431 Жыл бұрын
whilst out in Lanzarote / on the road in general, we made sure there was plenty of time between efforts and evenly spaced out especially as the rides were 4-5hrs so let’s say they were around 45mins recovery between each on the indoor trainer, the session is usually compressed into 1.5-2hrs with ~10mins recovery between each effort
@lucasandino9774 Жыл бұрын
@@edmorgan2431 Thanks so much for the reply! This is super interesting. I didn't know you could recover extensively between efforts! Nice. BTW, I'm assuming you are the elite cyclist in the video -- how is it that your name is not mentioned anywhere (not even in the description of the video)?
@edmorgan2431 Жыл бұрын
@@lucasandino9774 i was just doing these efforts spaced evenly as it suits my training for this time of year. it’s also good to experiment where you put your efforts in a ride. if you’re racing or participating in an event that’s going to be 5hrs long with some key sections towards the last 1.5hrs of the ride. then train by doing your 15min intervals all close together in the last part of your ride. and yes that’s me😇 jamie did name drop me a few times. but we can blame him for not mentioning me in the description ;)

@@edmorgan2431 thanks for the good advice! Will put it into practice. I do have an important race in less than a month. No introduction either when you appeared for the first time in the video. A question of style, haha.

They should ban road race training on roads you can't do it on a motorcycle or car . This should be done on a training track only . Before any one moans I am a keen cyclist. But it doesn't matter really as road cc are biased to anything else other then bicycle's
@scottfrancis2430 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, and running training should be only on the track too!
@a1white Жыл бұрын
Why? Because of the danger to the cyclists or what? They’ve obviously picked an island with good relatively quiet roads. A circuit can’t imitate the conditions of road cycling (they are on “Road” bikes after all).
