The PC version got cancelled, it was to feature a full city and backup, other NPC police cars would also initiate police chases and you as the player could join their ongoing pursuits or be called in as backup yourself. The programmers could not figure out how to do it

Legendary game. One of the finest police chase game in the history. The transition from a mere police cruise driver to a tank driver in late stage was insane.

I have no memory of how I came to have this game, I don’t know if I bought it, traded in for it, swapped with a friend...But somehow I had it! And I remember loving it!! I distinctly remember looking at the cop in the passenger seat roll down the window to pop out and aim their gun! To me, at the time that just looked so real! Hahaha this was a great game! I think there’s a lot of potential in this game! Imagine what it could do on current gen!

Yes, the graphics are a bit better. We got to factor in the extra memory driver games needed, however. This game is rather simple in comparison, especially in comparison to Driver 2.

Unfortunately the PC version was cancelled, it was to have a full city with other NPC police cars on patrol 🚔. I had heard that the programmers either could not code it as ambitious as it was and or they ran out of time/contract… The ps1 version is just a sample of what they really wanted.

@@sharpfalcon6196 i found out that the PC version was too complicated for them to finish and it was cancelled. This has happened before. The PC version would have expanded on this idea similar to the modding done for GTA V’s police simulation.
