@emansol9588
@emansol9588 4 жыл бұрын
The reason he started with such a low weight was due to a severe back injury. He wanted to make it through a workout with no back pain, so he went at 75 x 10. That's why the next time it was at 135 x 5, he realized his back was ready for it. So in reality it was like 175 max to 405 max.

@GolfyToreno
@GolfyToreno 4 жыл бұрын
@@Jacob-pz4ku the reason for his legs being so far apart is A: He's probably tall, because for example you're a tall person and u perform deadlifts. Your legs or maybe thighs will hit the barbell, so adjusting is key and also with the legs far apart you develop more on your legs than the posterior chain As for the hands, i think it's called an over hand and underhand grip. It provides different grip strengts Hope i made it clear :>

I’m wrong but Sumo deadlifts are usually for taller people with longer femurs compared to their arm length, as you can guess longer arms on deadlift are a blessing as it reduces the range to move the bar. But usually when you have long arms you have long legs too unless your a freak of nature like Sawyer Klatt(look him up he has extremely long arms but short femurs which gives him a 715 deadlift). So by pulling Sumo with a wide stance you reduce the range of motion of the bar by lowering your hips, but you still keep the benefits of the longer arms. If you want a visual demonstration look back at the video and see how far he moves the bar comparing his conventional pulls to sumo, when he pulls conventional the bar is almost at about hip level. When Max pulls sumo the bar is right above his knees at lockout, that’s a huge decrease in ROM. As we know in physics the equation for work is Work=Force x Distance, so by reducing the distance you have to move the bar on any lift, it is making you do less work.

I had one, too, in my thirties. In my forties, I learned to deadlift. My back is solid. Great job and great form! But when you jerk the bar before you pull the weight your exerting a lot more energy then you think. I used to do the same thing but I was lucky enough to be later coached by a world class power lifter who taught me the best way is to go straight down and straight up. No pausing at the bottom, no jerking the weight, no thinking. Just bring the weight up, Keep it up!

This is pretty good progress for a young guy who is not really built for the Deadlift. His arms are pretty short, which gives him a greater distance to move the weight. On his last conventional Deadlift set of 295X10 reps, I noticed him adjusting his grip every few reps. He might need some grip work to take it to the next level. If he's not using chalk, he needs to start. I also think more upper back work would help his lockout. I'm naturally built for Deadlifts with long arms and a short torso. I had been lifting about a year and a half before trying Deadlifts when I did 1 rep with 295 lbs weighing 150 lbs. The other guys were both 225 lbs and did 450. About 18 months later, I did 385 weighing 166. Best ever was 600 lbs weighing 198.

Everyone complaining about him doing sumo but cant even deadlift 100kg. Sumo vs traditional form is the same. You're just recruiting hams and glutes more doing sumo. Also being taller it gets alot more awkward as you go up in weight. Notice how all short guys are very strong its because their limbs are smaller and they pick up the weight with less rom. If you dont know anything about your body type and what works for you then go do some more research, if not post your piss weak lift so we can comment on your video.

Imagine how much more a person who weighs 120 could pull if they put on more mass. Would you rather look like you can lift 405 or, I dunno, actually be able to lift 405?

This deadlift progression is really realistic. It takes about a year to reach a 405 pound deadlift but it takes 1 to 2 years to go from 405 to 500 naturally, and after that you will barely make any gains. Most of the progress he made was noobie gains, nothing impressive, except when compared to the average man who cant even squat 135 with full range of motion
