Would love to see the two tone version with black dial! Btw, i have the newer version and the v3 you have and the newer version has te same thickness near the case but it gets thinner near te clasp (this is the version with the adjustable clasp) I've never seen it before, Looks great!

Great clip. Question: I'm new to Ali Express. How do you avoid a wacking big duty charge on delivery?

I ordered from Ali Express many times. There is no duty charge on delivery. You just pay for the cost of the item. All of my watch orders come with free delivery.

@@normanwandsworth When you go to pay, VAT is added now. Previously (around 1 year ago) it was not collected by Ali express and if you were unlucky you'd pay at the point of receiving it when it lands into UK, but now its collected by Aliexpress. Most suppliers got around it before by stating the item as below £15

Does honestly look like a very solid offering. I'd recommend Cronos as well. Similar quality but not as expensive as the san martin.

Yes, I've reviewed Cronos's sub alternative. I prefer the SM.

Sadly, the Cronos is superior (again) these days in some important ways. I absolutely wanted to get the SN 019, but San Martin messed it and the 017 up quite a bit IMO with their current choice of bracelet. 20 or 21 to 18mm and a 20mm clasp is just too thick, and the end-links protrude quite a lot. At least on the 019 they do: I contacted SM and the guy snapped a few pics for me in the stock-room while he was taking measurements. When I saw the pics, I was pretty sure the 019 wouldn't fit my wrist properly. So I went with a PT5000 Cronos which works very well on my 17cm wrist, despite its male end-links. They don't stick out very far, but they still allow the bracelet to fold over all the way to the case-back. It also does have the "correct" 20 to 16 (or slightly less than 16) taper and the adjustable clasp works great. Which is another thing SM took away from the 017 and 019 - these days they both come with their standard, 4-hole clasp and they said they weren't planning on giving those two watches their new adjustable clasp.

@@ATIWatchReviews Seeing how I only paid 180 EUR including import and shipping, I'm *very* happy - although I would've preferred to go SM, since I'm very impressed with my SN0109 (BB GMT Pepsi homage). There was one version of the SM 019 that I would've bought in a heartbeat. I think it was produced between your version and the current one and it did have a glidelock style clasp, the correct taper and narrower end-links. I almost bought the 019 when I found LumePip's review of that version, but then found out that they had changed the bracelet and end-links yet again. :)

I’ve just received my SN017-G V3 and the clasp is different? Also I’ve found the end links have quite a lot of movement, how is yours?

Ye they changed this version, it now comes with a standard deployant clasp WITHOUT safety catch. its less bulky though

I got one of these & the crown stem was defective. SM offered to send me a new crown & stem. That's it. No refund, no repair offered! And I had to send a vid showing the defective! ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Buyer beware.

I agree thats wrong, they should have replaced it or offered free repair
