Black women sleep on themselves. Most are sitting on a head of beautiful hair they don’t even know they have. We were born perfect. That’s why society tries so hard to tell us we aren’t beautiful just the way we are. But we are born beautiful with perfect hair and skin, and features and bodies. We are the first women.

When you said “cope with having natural hair.”😩 crazy that society programmed us beautiful queens have to figure out how to “cope” with our hair, as if it’s some sort of illness. Thank you for this❤️

Girl, I have the thickest hair & the tightest curl pattern in my family. Nobody wanted to do my hair & although it was long, it was a struggle to do anything with it when it was relaxed. I’ve been completely natural for 8 months now & I’m about to get a silk press so that I can get my ends trimmed. I am scared that I won’t feel beautiful with straight hair because I’ve grown to love my natural hair so much. Luckily, I can wash it and it will revert, but I’ve done a 180 on what I view as beautiful and I’m so thankful! I’m so comfortable in the skin I’m in now.

This video inspired me a tremendous amount. I’ve been natural for 7 years but last year for my 21st birthday I chopped all my hair off. I loved it initially but I hated it after the first day. It’s crazy because my hair journey date is 8 days before yours, but I was so inspired and excited by your hair growth journey. It made me appreciate my hair all the more and love what God gave me all over again. Thank you so much. Also, please keep loving Jesus, it’s such an inspiration to me. God bless hun!

Don't feel sad :(. BE ENCOURAGED! Be motivated. BE confident. If you want to watch a hair growth challenge here's one -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmq7ioR4gM-Ii5I I also recently big chopped and I did it for me. Not for anyone else because if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything (quote by Malcom X) Your confidence has to be the one thing that other people can't take away from you. Be mentally prepared for the hair struggles that may come too. My hair is at a twa and it's HECKA short. And at this stage it's understandable to be impatient for your hair to just grow already so you can be out of the awkward stage. Honestly, some days I get REALLY desperate and my hands are always in my hair massaging it because I can't wait for the growth. Now it's in a protective style just to limit manipulation to my hair and I'm still eager to get hair AT LEAST longer than it is now.... but sometimes you need to take a step back and focus on what's truly important. Which is the health. Sometimes you need to distract yourself from your hair too because when you're focused on it too much you become obsessed every day to see new growth. I say sometimes forget about it and do what you need to do. As long as you're taking your time and enjoy the journey you'll be okay :) . Maybe update me on your results when you see them ;). And have fun on the ride!

I typically don't leave comments but you have truly inspired me (yes 1 +yr later🙂). I recently decided to give my hair a break from wigs and weaves and focus on my natural hair. Growing up (like u ) I was made to feel insecure about my hair. My sister had long "beautiful" hair and my hair was short. I've recently come to terms at 39yrs old it's time to embrace All of me. My hair, my weight, my skin tone, my strengths and my weaknesses. What stood out to me in your video is you saying God was dealing with you about this. I've felt the same way. It's deeper than me following the natural trend. I truly feel like God Himself is speaking to me about self love. Loving ALL of me!. I started out just looking for ways to tie my head wraps and got a spiritual confirmation. Thank you!

Like you I've been doing my hair since about 15yrs old. I've always had long hair until I decided to go short pixie at 30. Now at 42 I said let me see how fast my hair will grow if I stop cutting it. About 2yrs ago I started doing my own color and cutting which I must say wasn't bad. Now I never started this journey to be natural but I stopped relaxing in April 2019 went from pixie to shoulder in less than a year. Now you have inspired me to move forward with seeing what my natural hair will do. I never started this to be natural but the curiosity is killing me. Thank you so much for sharing it has made me feel I'm not alone in my feelings, confusion and thoughts.

Your video has inspired me! I'm turning 54 next month, and I'm 2 months into my "Natural Hair Journey!" I haven't seen my natural hair since I was about 14 years old!! I did not big chop, but my hair is very short due to damage from bleaching and relaxing. I'm so excited with my curl pattern that is forming now. It's going to be a challenging journey, but I can't wait to get to the one year mark. You are beautiful and your hair is absolutely beautiful, too! Thanks for the inspiration!

Really made me cry 😭 I cut my hair 1 month ago. I was really depressed and confused on who I wanted to be. At first , I wasn't comfortable with it. But , NOW , I LOVE it 😍 Cutting my hair was the best decision I have EVER made! I too myself felt like the black sheep with the different hair in my family. I grew up Perming , cutting & dying my hair. So I took this video to the HEART ❤ Love you so much & THANK YOU 100 BILLION TIMES 🙏🏽❤😘

Your go to hair style was mines as well! The short relaxed hair with short or shaved sides were my favorite and I mastered it! I have been going back and forth between natural and relaxed since 2011 and I always found myself going right back to the relaxer. Now I am finally done! I've been natural now for 4 months and your video has really inspired me to continue my journey!! You know my struggle and your videos are the best Thank you!! You are very beautiful!

Awww so touching, I love this video. Inspired I am, I have been heat free and on the CGM method for 30 days now. It has been very liberating for me especially the self acceptance. I too came to realized that god gave me beautiful hair, and that I just didnt know any better. I am shocked that I absolutely love my hair now. 30 days in already my hair has come so far.

I’m in phase 1 of my natural hair journey. I too was stuck on the creamy crack. After I cut all my hair off in Sept ‘18 it started to grow back really pretty. But once I got comfortable I relaxed it again and dyed it black again. It didn’t resonate with me any longer. Now it’s May’19 and I cut it down again. I feel so much better, freer, and happier. Thx for the encouragement. I’m excited to see what the next few months hold.

What a wonderful video! Thank you so much for sharing. I am following down the same path, I am feeling the same things you said that you felt and you have accomplished your mission. You are walking beside us as we take that plunge. It took me four tries but I have finally made it all the way through. I've done it myself, I let my hair grow out stop getting a relaxer and then when I felt comfortable with the amount of New Growth I had I chopped off the relaxed portions myself. I have been natural since August 10th of this year and I am in those early stages of awkwardness, not knowing what products or what to do with myself so I am just becoming a product junkie unfortunately picking up anything and everything that says it will elongate and Define my curl. I am a 4C. I am embracing the transformation. You are right this is about much more than hair it's a rebirth and in some instances a discovery. I pray that my curls come out looking like yours - I know you said not to compare but I am not one for short hair and I am keeping it as healthy and moisturized as I can so that I have the long locks. This is a very sweet video and thank you again.

one, the way you say hair cracks me up. two, i connected so much with the pressures from family looks. my mother's side is cuban (long thick, continuously growing hair) and dad's side is dominican (curly, fine, silky) and i got the bear of the middle and it's way more curly and kinkier than theirs. this is such a beautiful journey. I'm struggling with mine now. I found a love and hobby in making wigs and got so good at it but i felt my natural ends were suffering from. Each time i did a braid out, i was cutting. then i just said, i'm going to give the wigs a break. and this past week, i must admit it has been difficult. i'm used to the ease but this has forced me (and costed me) to figure out what my hair likes, take on perceptions (Working in corporate) and show it some tlc. I'm learning. thank you for making feel a bit at ease.

I have been through everything you've been through with my hair all my life. I have ironed my natural hair, I have gone bald, color it, relax it, curl it and continually kept cutting it into so many different styles through the years. I tried leaving it natural a few times but couldn't manage it so I relaxed it again. I have finally decided to accept my natural hair and I love it, love it. It's been one year since I did the big chop and I truly love and accept my natural hair. It's been a spiritual journey for me.

But then the breakage it seemed my hair was stagnant. 😖 I was told several times that I needed to cut it but was like nope! But yesterday I gave in and did. I have NEVER commented on a youtube video, don't think it's important to voice what I think about a video. BUT I HAD to comment here. I have been debating the bc HARD BODY. I asked myself the exact same questions you did throughout this video. I always relaxed my hair and doing my hair once, I remember LITERAL tears streaming down my face asking God; "If you knew I would struggle with my hair so much, why wouldn't you just give me 'good hair'?" Now I am asking, "why can't I find the beauty in the hair God gave me?". THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I think I'm gonna go for it!

I think we all go through the same process when we go natural. I went through the EXACT same thing and God had to REALLY deal with me concerning my hair and now i love my natural hair. You and your hair are both beautiful. Thanks for the video

Omg your hair look so amazing! I want to do the big chop but im a little scared, all my family think that the short hair looks horrible on me and honestly i care a lot of what the other people say about me, but now i wanna do something for me and just do whatever i want even if the other don’t agree

wow this was actually really inspiring! this thursday marks my one year natural and i have been battling with the length and curl pattern. i wanted my curls to be longer and i missed the waist length relaxed hair i used to have. but now I am really starting to grow with my hair and this video reassured me that my hair is beautiful the way it is. Thank you so much!! Being in high school plays a major part because i feel like i have to look a certain way to truly be beautiful and I know now to listen to Gods voice.

This is so inspiring, thanks for your positive words. I big chopped a week ago and I’m looking forward to this journey. Its very interesting the struggle we as black women have when it comes to embracing our OWN natural hair.

Honestly ever since I shaved my head I’ve been really struggling. I see so many gorgeous girls with long thick beautiful hair and I miss it. But then other times I see myself and I’m like woah I rock this look. What this video has taught me is to be more open with it and to keep accepting all stages of growth!

I usually don’t comment on videos but I have to say yours was very inspiring. You touched on a lot of what I’ve been going through on my natural journey. I always get tired by month 5 and cut my hair (this year 4 of journey) but you have truly inspired me to see this journey through to the end. Thank you.

Thanks for the advice about accepting the hair type and pattern because i was worried that my hair was not looking like yours or other people with type four hair and it did make me feel a little down but hearing what you said made me stop and think that I’m just grateful to have a head full of hair because I start thinking some people actually lose their hair, so thank😌

I've been looking for a video about afro hair I'm 5 months in... and my whole attitude has transformed... like u a complete acceptance of how MY hair is ... not what I want it to look like.. like someone else's... your hair journey is a message to a lot of woman saying they want natural hair but do everything to make it other than what they have... like me I did the same, stretched relaxed.. etc I now sooooo love what I was born with even on those dry days... it's my hair ! I am totally, finally in love with what I got... I was never happy, trying to do to it what it couldn't do... Spook thank you for this video.... NEVER thought I would have found the right video and message..... peace and love

I have been natural for years but I really started focusing on not cutting it and trying different styles because of your videos. Scalped my hair on July 14th 2017 and then did a taper dec 14th and have watched it grow out ever since. I figure dec 14 will be my 1 year since I did recut it. But, thank you especially for that coil out video girl it saved me.
