I just want to say from the bottom of my heart that I really appreciate this entire journey. I am going through the exact same thing when it comes to my edges. My edges are not as bad as your initial edges were but I am just as self conscience. I have been trying many products for years trying to figure out whats going to work and I have not been able to find anything that works. Just a few days ago I was having a mental breakdown about my hair because I thought there was nothing that I could do but you have restored my faith. I've cried myself to sleep for the past few nights hating what I see in the mirror and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you thank you thank you.

From your initial posting to now I can see the resurrection of you! You were so sad about losing your edges but you shared it selflessly with the world. That's a big accomplishment, besides your surgery, and we thank you! Keep your positive vibes flowing. Blessings.

Seeing your results, literally just brought me to tears! I decided last night that hair transplant would be my post-grad school gift to myself. I've had traction alopecia at my edges since elementary school so seeing the potential is so empowering! Thank you for sharing your story!

LittleSharon any major down time and swelling..how long were you out of work and how did you cover the areas?
@CathFerook7 жыл бұрын
Nikia Barber-CLARK hey hun! I didn't exactly have down time as I work from home which i was able to continue with. The swelling went down after 4 weeks and the scabbing went after about 9 weeks. I lightly wrapped a silk scarf around my head when I needed to go out or had people round but otherwise I didn't cover it up coz I was home x

You looking. Happy to see that the surgery and transformation is going great. I'm just using castor oil and it seems to be working. Now if my hair would just grow. It's been three months and it is just as short as the day I cut it back in November. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a bless one.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have traction alopecia and I've been dealing with it since high school. I wore a lot of braids and then sew-ins - tore my edges all the way out. I've tried to grow them back with tea tree oil and rosemary oil stimulation. I have not tried cortisol injections. My question for you is would you recommend that I try more natural remedies first or just go for the transplant option? Thank you so much for sharing!

Jasmine, thanks to you I had my procedure, in January, with Dr. O.. The two month mark requires such patience but your vids have helped me realize that I'm progressing just fine. Interesting about the bumps cause I'm already experiencing them at the two month mark. Dr. O is sending me some medications as well. I would suspect they'll be the same as yours. Glad to know that they worked for you! Thank you, again, for your courage in sharing your story with your KZbin family. You continue to be such an inspiration and, I too can't wait to get to the one year mark. Thank you, again. God bless!

Thank you for sharing your journey. Do you have any recommendations for low-manipulation/ low tension styles to avoid relapsing? My edges have always been a problem area (probably because I have psoriasis) but I can't quite figure out how to style it and look cute (apart from doing twist-outs - which requires doing twists - which my edges don't like) without over-manipulating... :/
@beautifulday10977 жыл бұрын
I am skeptical, I was thinking about having a transplant done by the place you had yours done. Maybe it's just the lighting but to me a few people who had transplants there..it kinda just looks like the edges has been concealed with black makeup powder. Your video looks better. Maybe it's just the texture from the back of the head that has now been transplanted to the front? I dont know. please keep us updated! love the video

Great update and glad your hair is doing well. By the way your twist out in the front looks amazing! What do you use to do your twist outs? - It looks good. I like using flaxseed gel and she's butter.

Hello Jasmine. I went last week for a consultation to a dr. in the state that I live in. However, I'm still interested in seeing your dr. I made an appointment with her office, but I'm moving the appt. up a little sooner as I want to try to get the surgery done this summer. I'm really praying about my decision. I look forward to my visit with her. I'm traveling from another state because I feel better that she's an African American female Dermatologist. They're really hard to find in the city that I live in. Especially specializing in hair restoration.
