This is so inspiring for me. One day I had no thought of the harp and the next I purchased one. 😮 This music is so calming. Thank you for sharing ❤ Brilliant!

Such an amazing job in one year! And really inspirational. I play some other string instruments (all self taught) and have been wanting to learn harp for years, but it's SO intimidating. This really helps me take that jump to just do it!

Wow! I am astonished! You did a great job, indeed! My truly compliments! ❤I wish I could exercise every day, to get better like you. I also use the Sylvia Wood arrangements, and I follow also the same channels. The difficult is also to understand and translate from english, since I am italian. But anyway, wow, you are great!

Ciao, leggo il tuo commento e sono italiana anch'io, studio l'arpa da qualche tempo e se vuoi possiamo tenerci in contatto anche per le tue esigenze di traduzioni 😊

Great job learning harp! Your hand position greatly improved as you progressed and the sound quality of your Ogden was wonderful. Are you planning on going into a pedal harp? I believe you're ready if that's your goal.

Thank you for your comment! I love all the harps I've played, maybe I just love the sound of a harp in general. I do want to get a pedal harp eventually, but that would be years down the road. It is quite a big investment when I'm just playing for my own enjoyment.

@@keepcalmandplayharp When you're ready for a pedal, check out the Salvi Daphne series. They have a gorgeous tone, well built and are much more affordable. L&H Chicago series are not that good. I know of some professional harpists who play Daphnes in orchestras.

@@LM-WWJD I actually have my eyes on the Salvi Aurora. I've watched some sample videos of this harp and loved the sound in all of them! Gotta start saving now...

@@keepcalmandplayharp I took the money from the sale of my old beat up Venus Diplomat and saved up for a year before buying the Minerva, plus I had to take out a small loan from my credit union. You will love the Aurora. The tonal qualities of Salvi are warm and mellow so they are quicker and easier to break in, and the tone only gets better as the harp ages. It will be well worth saving up for the Aurora. Happy Harping!

Great progress! Thank you for posting. Do you think Lyon and Healy will add 2 more levers on the 39 and 40th string in the future, or they won't because they are too out of the reach of the left hand?
@keepcalmandplayharp Жыл бұрын
I don't think they will. It's very rare that you need to change the levers of those 2 strings during a song.

Did you know how to read music before playing?

Sorry for the late reply, but the answer is a soft Yes. I was introduced to piano at 12 years old and played some level 1 beginner pieces for less than a year, but life happened and I didn't play music after that, so I had to start over with the harp and learned music theory again. The book I used is Teach Yourself to Play the Folk Harp by Sylvia Woods.
