just realised all you vr guys have it so easy because you can look at your script in your headset and nobody realises

😂 I wasn't trying to hide the fact, but you're definitely right haha. It's exactly what I was doing. Sometimes I just use bullet points and riff off of that, too.

In response to the "glare" bit at 15 minutes, I have a theory that this actually comes from the screen light hitting our eyes, and then bouncing back onto the screen, which you can then see as a glare or discoloration on the lens., awesome video, I wish I could afford one haha

bad fov sadly so not really worth buying
@ThisKoryКүн бұрын
@Crimsom2977 Anything is worth buying if it's worth it to the buyer. Plenty of people will still enjoy lower FOV headsets if the trade-offs are worth it. I'd much rather use the Beyond which has amazing clarity and details, especially with the micro OLED displays, than any other heavy and clunky headset with LCD displays and a larger FOV.

I don't understand - why do we have to choose between 1920p at 90 hz and 2560p and 75 hz, if it's the PC doing the computations, not the goggles?
@ThisKory20 сағат бұрын
It's a data bandwidth limitation with the cable from my understanding. VR pushes 2 displays, it's insanely high resolution, and it just can't push the data to perform at higher refresh rates.
@charlesturner89720 сағат бұрын
Assuming the displays are 10-bit, 1920x1920 90Hz is 10Gb/s, bump that to 2560x2560 90Hz and it's 19Gb/s. Both require compressing the signal with DSC but 2560 90Hz will need it compressing almost twice as much, and I would guess the quality was just too poor. Either that or the chipset in the headset (the headset has to decompress and drive the displays) couldn't handle 19Gb/s (remember this is just for 1 screen)

What I am a little worried about is, that Valve apparently stopped producing anything for the Ligthouse system; the base stations and the Knuckles. Also: what game was that at 28:30?
@ThisKory11 сағат бұрын
Yeah that's a bummer, at least they're still being manufactured by other companies. It seems we will continue to get more VR products from Valve with their latest leaks for the new controllers, which is nice. That game was Automobilista 2 😁🏎️
@xXYannuschXx4 сағат бұрын
@@ThisKory Yeah, I put away money already for the next Valve VR set. But sadly it seems it wont be an "Index 2" but rather a "VR Steamdeck". Dont get me wrong, I love the idea, but it seems they completely move away from lighthouse tracking (despite the 2022 leaks of lighthouse 3.0) and the finger tracking Knuckles. I still hope that the leaks arent complete and they do make higher end controllers and tracking solutions. Is HTC now making the base stations? At least those will still be made then. But we wont have the Knuckles sadly and the Vive Wands are... well they suck :D Thanks, will check it out.
@ThisKory4 сағат бұрын
I agree with you entirely, and if Valve is ditching proper PCVR headsets and finger tracking of the knuckles altogether, then it'll be a sad day for VR. Let's hope that's not the case 🤞

11:12 How did you get a thin Interface? My is as thick as that banana you've eaten earlier.
@ThisKory21 сағат бұрын
I almost choked reading that last sentence 🤣 You must ask them for a thin gasket, as thin as they can get it. If it is too thin, you can purchase tiny 3x1mm or 3x2mm magnets to add them to the gasket as spacers. That being said, I believe you get one free gasket adjustment - don't quote me on this. My first gasket I had comfort issues with, so when I had mine adjusted I requested it to be as thin as they could get it. Hit them up on the Bigscreen Beyond Discord server, they have a solid support team over there.

Switching from a dim display headset to a normal brightness one will blow your mind, that all the same game levels you thought were rendered as late evening are actually mid day, just your headset were rendering those way too dark. This is exactly how switching to a Quest Pro felt like, the one headset having really bright displays and good black too. Switching to the Quest 3 will not make a difference because screens are barely more brighter and all you notice are just those washed out colors.
@ThisKory22 сағат бұрын
I'm not so sure about that, going from my Beyond to my Quest 3 doesn't blow my mind at all, and it's quite the opposite, really. Everyone will have different desires though, and that's what's great about having so many options now with VR headsets 😁
@MrTechcat17 сағат бұрын
@@ThisKory You need Quest Pro to see the difference. Quest 3 is barely brighter over BSB and washes colors so bad at max brightness too.
@dtz100013 сағат бұрын
PSVR2 is also much brighter than the BSB and it's OLED. Shame about the resolution though. Quest Pro has even lower resolution.
@ThisKory11 сағат бұрын
@dtz1000 I've heard the PSVR2 has much worse persistence than the Beyond as well, so that's definitely something to consider.
@MrTechcat4 сағат бұрын
@@dtz1000 I had PSVR2 it's very dim too. But the worst part is those lenses worse than the quest2.. I just need to finish my video what a joke PSVR2 is.

bruh.. beyond is so small that u might need to change ur profile pic
@ThisKory4 сағат бұрын
Haha I started thinking about that as soon as I ordered the Beyond. I figured it will be harder to recognize as a VR channel since it'll be so small and hardly noticeable. I will keep the Index profile pic for a bit longer since it represents VR headsets better, and it holds a soft spot in my heart with it being my first VR headset.
@toututu299321 сағат бұрын
It is probably the hardest device to order in the history of mankind. If face scan "only in Iphone device" isn't correct, then you need to return it??? Sure famous vr youtubers and .001% of world population are interested of this thing. Might as well get a Quest 3 or Pimax Crystal instead and $200 for foods
@ThisKory20 сағат бұрын
Nah I'm good, I'd rather take the little time to get something custom made for me. It's way more comfortable than anything I've tried, and I've already tried 6 other VR headsets. The Beyond is worth going through the hassle for the comfort alone. I don't own an iPhone, I just went to the Apple store and used one of theirs. It was nice to get out of the house, and it took like 3 minutes to scan my face. But that's my opinion, to each their own ✌ I love my Quest 3 as well, but if it was as light and comfortable, and had high res OLED displays like the Beyond, then I'd love it even more 😅
@dtz100012 сағат бұрын
PSVR2 is another good option as it's OLED and has a higher fov than the BSB. I prefer it to Quest 3 for PCVR even though it is a pain to set up. OLED is just way better than LCD.

Very nice review! What is the cushion on your audio strap and how did you attach it? The standard sponge is starting to come off on mine.
@ThisKoryКүн бұрын
Thank you! I believe it is the Kiwi strap for the Quest 3, I took the back piece from that and simply stuck it on - it's velcro, you can easily remove the default sponge piece. I'm glad someone noticed this 😅 you have a keen eye!
@sariellkaleidosoul47Күн бұрын
@@ThisKory You def need to make people aware of this, this is a great tip. If there is one complaint I can make about the audio strap, its that awful sponge but the velcro at least makes it possible that we replace it with something better.
@ThisKoryКүн бұрын
It'll be something I mention in my Beyond Audio Strap review for sure. It's definitely nice to have a hygienic option to easily wipe clean. I had the original pad on for a whole 5 minutes before removing it and replacing it with better pads 😅
