omg I love this idea of doing a recap of your professional color analysis!! I wish more youtubers did one. Also I remember commenting you looked really good in berry toned lips when you first got the color analysis done but I forgot to add I (personally) think you STILL look good in warm, nudey, red-brown lip shades too!! like I always thought your golden makeup looks (as opposed to orangey-red based looks) were so gorgeous on you!

& ALSO OH MY GOD I JUST DISCOVERED I’M OLIVE TONED TOO! I’m in the beginning of my olive skin journey, very very green undertone with golden overtones (in M’sia we lovingly call it Kuning Langsat) & I’m so frustrated that C- & K-beauty brands tend to encourage “erasing” or “neutralizing” my green undertones with purple or pink pigments (which ends up making me look powdery) whereas western brand foundations are commonly just straight up too orange for me. UGHH. I’m holding out hope for a good olive foundation match (there are new releases from some indie brands) but lately I’m also very tempted to just settle & buy a blue pigment to mix with my foundation rn

aww, thank you so much for your kind words! yes, i do remember you mentioning it 🤓 yeah sadly, oranges really aren't my colour and always make me look a little (or vert) off. right?? currently, im looking at the elf camo concealer in blue, grwm cosmetics blue mixer and issey blue mixer. these 3 are the ones on my wishlist and looking to purchase. which are the indie brands with olive foundations? would love to know!

I always thought i was a soft autum until i educated myself more on color analysis and i thought then i was clear spring but i checked the ca app and i was sooo wrong! I'm soft summer! I look so much more healthy and glowing in the new colors tbh 🌞

@@itskrystle I personally lean closer to neutral than cool but I love the deja brew palette from colourpop if you want a daily eyeshadow also the dasique blending mood cheek pallet in berry smoothy for purple pink cheeks and it has brightening shades too and for lips if its glossy lip i like the peripera water bare tint in hip rose and for a matte lip I like the kaleidos lip clay in Bare and for a lip that's more colorful peripera ink the velvet lip in 18 star plum pink Also I heard Wonyoung of IVE is a summer too so I like so see what she gets I might order bare grape soon and the bebe tints that just launched 👀

My take is... It's not about pink or yellow or neutral... It's about the Grey!!! I struggled w foundations. Somehow it will be off on me but then! When I got BB creams like heimish, missha and purito, which have grey tones, I look great and I realised it's the grey that saves the day

interesting take 🤩 omg now that you mention it right, recently i've been wearing my heimish bb cream in 23C and despite it being grey and pink, it *actually* looks quite alright! you do have a really good point ✨ btw jen, do you know what's your personal colour palette? is it the same as mine, light summer?

Have you considered possibly being olive toned? I found out that I am a muted olive and have been able to make foundations work for me by mixing them with blue colour corrector, which actually makes the foundations greyer

I really want to get my colour analysis done!, especially after watching your vid as I have quite a golden skin tone so always think I’m warm tone but hate wearing oranges and mustards and warm browns 😭😂 but I like burgundy and olive Green so who knows 😭😭

haha i think for asian skintones, it's really tricky to identify. there's like an overall skintone colour which, for me is yellow. but there's an undertone too - yellowwith a cool-blue-ish green "hue or tint" to it. if you think you look good in burgundy and olive greens, keep wearing them ✨ maybe you could DIY it yourself? i've seen some people sitting infront of a window, white cloth draped across their upper torso with their hair tied back, putting fabrics on themself.

Refer to the 12 type system. U could then either be spri g or autumn or one of their subgroups

Your foundation is quite white. You look like a 27. Hera 25 is a decent olive.

i agree, this foundation shade did me dirty 🥸💀 a pity cause i barely used this cushion foundation and its giving whitewashed 🧐 27 is too dark for me though. usually i am a 22-23. sometimes 23s are a tid bit dark but i can get away with it + my neck is darker than my face & body. thank you for the suggestion, any particular hera cushion formula that you recommend?

@@itskrystle Hera Black cushion in 25N1 is basically a perfect match for me, but lots of Korean brands have made their 25's and 27's lighter than they were in the past, so actually I'm really liking TirTir Red Mask Fit cushion in 24W. A bit deeper and definitely more saturated than the Hera on me.

I think you (and we too hahah) thought you were autumn because of the muted qualities... I'm still debating over dark autumn vs. a more muted winter, or something else really... I think I disappear next to bright saturated colors but look sick on greys, and I don't look good next to very light or very dark colors, it need to be halfway someday I'll pay someone to analyze me (online) hahahah I wanted to do this before dying my hair but it's still expensive lol and I don't trust the people who do the analysis in my city...

@@itskrystle most people I've seen I'd guess have only basic training, and I live in Brazil, the training is more based on white and maybe a bit black skin, not much in Asian skin that has it's own nuances, as you said, if you go to Korea they will analyze based on Korean features and beauty standards, in Brazil it's a bit the same... So I'm afraid I would get not the best results... I'd rather find someone who is more neutral but also knows how to analyze Asian features

I did mine at cocory personal colour in seoul, south korea. so glad that it worked out for you! and yes, i read somewhere that light summers can borrow light spring colours because of how "light" and "bright" they are.

there are few things i'd like to mention since i am in the color analysis community for a long time. first of all it does NOT make sense that seasons like summer and spring would have to wear light colors for the rest of their lives if they want to look good because they are light or winter and autumn have to wear dark colors for the rest of their lives because they are dark. for example I'm a winter, a dark winter, does that mean i have to wear black wedding dress in my wedding and would never be able to pull off a white wedding dress? absolutely not and real color analysts know that. when you get your season you'll have a cunk of colors that would look good on you, ranging from light colors to medium tone colors to dark colors and few colors that you have to avoid and then the rest lays in between because they are not the best but they wont look that bad on you and not a chunk of your best colors and chunk of your bad colors because these bad colors are usually very specific and usually not a big range of colors, and yes if you are light season then you bad colors are most likely dark ones and wearing dark colors can be tricky for you especially if you are a light summer/light spring be it is still very possible. i feel like with color analysis blowing up suddenly there are some misconceptions that are coming with them. other things i want talk about: 1:31 the first shirt looks more like a winter to me it looks like a cool brown. the two yellow shirts are autumn. the beig shirt looks cool undertoned and its not that light so winter. the pants also looks like a cool brown but this could be more of summer. the deep red dress works for both autumn and winter and the next red dress is definitely winter its a very clear cool red. 1:40 red lipstick is kinda winter trait. yes every season can find their own best red lipstick but winters usually look the best when it comes to red lipstick. think of any celebrity that specifically looks good in red lipstick and they would most likely be would be a winter season. when talking about autumns then bronzers looks especially good on them, think of any celebrity that specifically looks good when wears bronzer and they would most likely be would be an autumn like beyonce for example. black and navy are winter's best colors not autumn, in fact some color analysts thinks that black is one if autumn's worst colors especially soft autumns and usually recommend altentives to black. idk why you thought all of these colors are autumn which most of them are not, maybe you have a misconception that colors are ethier warm or cool? which is kinda true be it doesnt apply to all colors, browns can be cool or warm, greens can be warm or cool, red can be warm or cool. blues and purples are mostly cool (some says that there are warm blues other says that this is a myth), yellow and orange are mostly warm (some says that there are cools yellows other says its a myth), pink is cool and if you want to make pink warm you add yellow so you have peach, so pink is cool, peach is warm, these are few examples to clear my point so i hope you get it. a good thing to do is comparing the colors that you showed here 1:35 to the colors that the woman put on you on 2:28, you can see how the autumn pallet is alot softer and warmer then the clothes you showed on the beginning (i belive this were soft autumn color pallet specifically? either ways autumn colors are softer and warmer then most colors you showed unless the lighting in your room is very cool tone). 12:01 this is a clear winter jacket and pants with a light summer top, not an autumn jacket and pants i dont see the warmth on these colors they appear alot moer cooler so you are not wearing your worst color because the lady recommended clear winter colors as your good colors. tbh, i dont undersand why you are a summer and especially a light summer you look more like a winter to me, maybe a clear winter, even your channel picture screams winter to me but if you are a light summer, i'd say when dealing with dark colors try to pick the lightest of the darkest option, usually very drak colors dont look the best on summers especially light summers and its better to stick with the darkest option of the medium tones (or lightest option of the dark tones (darkest option of the medium tones and lightest option of the dark tones is the same? because the lightest of the dark would look the same as the darkest of the medium, hope that makes sense)) but if you want to wear dark colors then its better to keep it away from the face, if you had to wear it close to the face then wear a summer color jewellry if you cant then make sure that this dark color is a winter color not autumn, in your case clear winter specifically since this is what was recommended for you.
