I play for 3 years now, I believe his progress isn`t fake, looking by his hand posture and movement... it looks like a `beginners` hand, it reminds me my own hand posture 2 years ago, the problem whit this fake piano progress videos in KZbin is more about the tecnique than the repertoire itself. Ignasi is talented and is clearly an hardworking student.

@@seb3082 do you play piano? nah you really can't do that i mean muscle memory can only take you so far. there is a point where your brain and hands just won't have the indepedence to play it especailly at tempo. the climenti is even less beleivable than the Nocturnes. at 3-4 months you just can't play Broken chords like he does. the first nocturne it will take you a week ro two weeks, just to be able to play the broken bassline jumps. propertly , Look at what he says " this piece was hard to learn lol but helped me with technique"? GTFO out of here hhaha. he can do th descencing lines at tempo and he can do the melody decending while breaking up the chord . It's just possible. He basically just has too much hand independence . He can play both nocturnres with expression and pedal with broken chords , it's just not possble an adult 4 months into doing so people are just gullbible and don't know anyhting about music , & music practice they see this and just wow amazing lol so talented & yeah he only plays like the first 8-16 measures of the song . many people put videos like this and they get debunked, lol maybe I should make a channel about this. the most popularr one on youtube , an asian guy compelteley debunked watch that video and you'' know this video is fake too. He learned the etude for 6 months? right lol so 6 months .. he was practicing an ETUDE from CHOPIN.. At the same time learrning, 2 Nocturnes? lol like gtfo out of here. even if you practiced 4 -6 hours a day. you can't do all 3 pieces. and then you go from chords to alberti bass for Mozart? @ 5 months. but the debussy is so sloppy but still descending lines like that. lol its fake man.

@@Phaseish I do play piano, have been since like I was 6 years old so I actually don’t know what it’s like to learn as an adult. Honestly a bit of a flaw with me is that I keep undervaluing the amount of difficulty, effort and time it takes to learn the piano properly since I can do it I think it’s easy but it’s actually not. Yeah it’s definitely really unlikely that you’d be able to learn expressive techniques such as being able to control the dynamics, lifting after slurs and even keeping the accompaniment quiet and these take years to master. Even playing simultaneously left and right hand can be a struggle for someone starting completely fresh. You know what I believe you on this one, if I were to get my mum to start learning the piano in a year I’m very doubtful she’d make insane progress like this. Maybe if it was after 2 years this video would be more believable. Yeah maybe you should make a channel lmao you seem to know your stuff ahaha Original reply is gone?

@@seb3082 Clearly, he's not a beginner, his piano touch and rhythm is too good to be true for a beginner. Also, an adult (with no prior knowledge of music) will have a harder time learning than a kid whose brain is still developing.

Month twelve of your first year and you're playing Debussy's Gradus? That's an RCM Grade 10 piece that tests the mettle of very talented, very ambitious conservatory students who've played seriously for 10-12 years. And you bypassed it all in one year? No. I don't think so. Beyond me not buying your adult piano journey story, I have to say that you play beautifully. You're exceptional gifted. That is no exaggeration.

Many people are doubting this guys progress, especially the ones who've had piano lessons. The thing you guys fail to understand is that learning to play an instrument is not the same for everyone. Some people dedicate hours and hours a day practicing, learn without teachers due to not being able to take lessons for some reason, and progress in a different pace. I feel like many people who don't have the same talent and dedication as this guy, don't believe it's possible to progress this fast. Well, I am a self-taught pianist, and I believe it is 100% possible, with some talent, and a whole lot of dedication. Well done, Ignasi! This encouraged me to dedicate more to my studies.

You have been playing pieces too difficult for your level, the runs are uneven, very rough, your Debussy doesn’t have the proper tune color. Spending 6 months working on a Chopin etude isn’t productive, time will be better spent on playing more suitable pieces to build a good technical foundation. You are so talented, have some patience to grow your craft more organically.

For myself, It is possible to learn fur elise effectivly even though you have no piano experience. That is what i achieve. ONLY if you practice that one piece for one month with 2 hours everyday. I learn from stsrt to finish after 31 days. To a point i hated fur elise now hahah but yes my hand motion is still stiff as compare to a experience piano player and my melody tends to be slow on some parts. But i effectivly learn it in a month. Thanks to this practice. Learning new piece was a breeze because my left hand got used to not pressing at the same time as my right. Now i encourage to whoever start playing just go for it. Play one song for a month first to let your hands get used to playing. After a month maybe learn a new piece or learn music notes. What ever is comfortable.

I call BS on this. Fur Elise is a grade 5 piece (ABRSM) or grade 7 (RCM) yet you're saying a beginner could learn this in a month? Sorry, absolutely no way. Not playing it with the fluency that is demanded by Beethoven. Please upload a video of you playing it as I'd love to see what level you can actually play the piece at. There is a vast difference between playing with fluidity and just knowing the notes.

Hello Ignasi, Good progress, but I am skeptical for the one-year timelapse and from scratch. Maybe more explanations are needed, like e.g learning with a teacher, starting time, how you work with pieces (are you learning just those pieces for many weeks or are you also working on easier pieces as well), practice time, previous music experience with a different or similar instrument... Also if you are practicing full time or alongside a full time job (or student). And your musical goals, challenges, victories and setbacks. I believe that some people learn fast and that you are probably one of them. Retrospectively, looking at my personal journey, I did Clementi's Sonatina after 9 months and Für Elise after 18 months (and yet not that good). For Chopin, I haven't touched it yet (even though I have played for 4 years) because as agreed with my teacher, I need to work on my fundamental weakness: (mental) relaxation. But she thinks I will be ready in a couple of months. For the Turkish march, I will wait 2-3 years. For sure, the technical progress is visible but it is very subtle. Hard to detect for people who don't know. I can understand that you don't all the time focus on filming, hence the necessity to explain more. You are also very lucky to own such quality instrument from the beginning. Wish you well in your piano journey and happy practicing. Robb

Hello Robb, Thank you very much for your comments. I’m gonna try to answer all your questions: As I said in the video, I started learning classical music in January 2022 but before that, I had been learning some pop music by synthesia for five months. I’m learning with a teacher. I generally learn between three and five pieces at a time, depending on the difficulty. I practice around 3 hours a day. I don’t have any previous music experience with the piano or any other instrument. I’m studying at University, working part-time and learning the piano, all at the same time. Hope this is helpful for you. I’m sure your progress is also very good and you will keep improving. Enjoy your journey with the piano and keep it up!! Ignasi

It’s a shame you have to call it a beginner video to get views as it’s very nice. But it’s also a shame you call it a beginner video because it puts people off of playing when they’re still on Alfred book one after 8 months. Which is normal and what we’re looking to see when we search for one year progress videos 🤭.

First of all thaks for your comment. Now, at the begining I always used to much pedal and my teacher said to me that to learn pieces its better not to use it at all until you have learn the whole piece, because pedal usually hide the mistakes you make on legatto and all of that. So my recomendation is the same, try not to use pedal until you have learned the piece and then implement it.

First video I ever rated as "dislike" ! Sorry, let me explain please : Olà Ignasio ! Que tal ? If you would have shown your slow progress from the start ( you claim you did self taught with synthesiagame a couple of months ) then perhaps it would be credible and a good video documentation. But you did not and the title is misleading : "beginner progress from scratch" ! Please change the title ! IN consequence, not only do most viewers consider it as FAKE but it also DISCOURAGING for beginners to see and hear so good piano playing after 5 monts already ! There is no progress in the playing... it's just good from the start to the end, one can not see the playing errors the beginner typically make. To see perfect piano playing I'll go see Lang Lang & Co. What is interesting with beginners are to see the imperfections and how hard it is to actually learn the piano ! You wrote in a comment that you also study for school / college and put in 5 hours of practice a day. That is a lot of discipline and work . Who paid for the expensive version of the Kawai CA79 in the most expensive high gloss finish? Was it a present from your family ? Does your family play piano too and you developed a good musical ear ! ? It is a pity you don't explain some of the context of your "musical genius" as it is extraordinary to process to that level in so short time. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new Yamaha acoustic piano and have fun making video's ! Best wishes, Mike
