So the vat isn't really a viable saving because you are charging your clients VAT and you are passing it on to HMRC, You're also in turn making a small percentage on VAT depending on and if you're purchasing but either way that's actually a dead transaction And although there is no VAT in Dubai for you to charge this shouldn't count. Corporation tax If you've moved your trading businesses across to Dubai then that is definitely going to count, however for property investors corporation tax will still be applicable in the UK up to 25% maximum depending on the profit level. Dividend tax You mentioned a seven figure tax bill not sure if that was included within your initial calculations but I've put 3 million pounds as a dividend in a tax calculator and it worked out to 38.8 percent net income £1.84m obviously that's very high and it will be worth moving for that. So I think in your case You pay no corporation tax and no dividend tax ignoring the VAT So on your dubai-based company you'll be 38 percent plus 25 percent minus the 9 percent Dubai potential corporation tax you mentioned Making you 54% better off still very high though!!! However can you let us know about your UK company property portfolio I'm guessing you have one? Because that business will still pay corporation tax or any company making a profit in the UK operating in the UK. I believe the biggest saving really is that dividend tax you've made 😎
