1 Year Review of my C63s AMG Matte WRAP Experience! Is it worth it?!

Hey Everyone!!
So I have been getting asked if my car is wrapped and how it has held up after 1 year so I decided to make this video! This video is quick review on my c63s amg coupe being wrapped for a year and what information you need for getting a wrap done on your car! john720 I went with the AMG because of the engine mostly, loved how it sound and I love mercedes! All the other cars are great though, I almost got a Nissan GT-R instead

Very helpful video thank you. You do a nice job keeping your videos objectively informative which is the most helpful approach IMO. LOVE the look of the wrap you chose, friggin gorgeous and bad ass. 3K is good news, I would have guessed that cost 4-5K! Keep up the great content!

Couple Q’s: 1) how much did it cost to get it wrapped? 2) how do you fix those chips and dings in the front? 3) how much of the car did they need to take apart, to do the wrap? 4) How was the fitment of the Panamericana grill, any rattling, etc? Rasta Ricky hey man thanks! 1) roughly 3k out the door 2) you can get the front re-wrapped, or if you get a wrap, you can get PPF ontop of it which I would recommend! 3) for mine it was front bumper, rear bumper, mirrors and that was it. Very simple! 4) no rattling but this grille was meant for a c43 so it doesnt fit 100%, now the ones they sell are much better

Satin was my choice too but having issue with it lifting off because i had the dealership apply the paint protection coat which made it super slick and hard for adhesive from wrap to stick.

Yeah if you have a ceramic coating, its hard for vinly to adhere properly to the paint

Thats strange? To wrap a car, all coatings of any kind need to be removed and super clean. That means no wax, no ceramic, no dust, etc. Then it's cleaned with 70 percent rubbing alcohol. You can then add stuff like ceramic coating to the vinyl/ppf.

Good color choice bro. few questions, 1) Do you think, this Grey satin wrap look good on a white C63s (I'm planning to buy one soon) 2) Will there be an impact on Warranty? 3)Do you have to let your insurance company know about this and does your premium go up due to wrap? @@yaboibakalli wow, $2000.00+ just on labor. Vinyl for your size car (50 feet) is $500 to $800. PPF is a lot more expensive. Commenting on price just in case someone is interested in doing it themselves, not trying to say anything negative on your situation.

Did the rock chips penetrate through the vinyl and damage the paint? Looking to get my C63s wrapped as well

any protection will help. If you're really worried about rock chips, may want to try PPF. PPF is a lot more expensive and limited in colors, but its more durable than vinyl and has better self-healing properties. They also make clear ppf that most people just use on the front of the car for rock chip protection.

Can you put clear plastic siran wrap on in top of the wrap to block chips? I know it would throw the look but the front would be chip free. And the reasoning of this would be obvious just to maintain the wrap.

@@ChinChillR63s Its a bra, PPF is what most people do. I use the Vinyl to protect my original paint, once it starts to fail, I replace it. Some people just want the wrap to change the color of the vehicle (cheaper than paint), those are the people who use a bra to protect it from rock chips.

Great video! What is the process for removing a wrap like the one you have? And how safe is it for the original paint? Would it cause any damage?

Its a harder process, you want to usually let the car sit in the sun for a couple days to warm up the material real good then you slowly take it off nice and easy. If you rush it and its cold, itll remove clearcoat for sure. If you do it right, the wrap will have protected the paint

wow, my BMW has matt ghost blue, it's been on my car for almost 7 years and it's in better shape than yours (vvivid vinyl) No chips, but I have a small scuff from someone car door and a little lifting in recessed area. I am getting ready to change it to a darker color "matt ghost royal blue". I guess you could get a professional to do it, in my opinion it's not that hard to do it yourself (will see when I have to remove it). If you don't have the time or just not mechanically inclined, I can see why you would.

about $500 to $800 to cover a 4-door car. Companies will ship to you if you're looking to do it yourself. If you want a professional to do it, plan on spending as much as $2000 on labor. New Jersey has a thousand shops. Shop around

They do have special shampoos for wrap, but I just use every day Meguires from the auto store. No issues, you still want to treat it like any car washing to avoid water spots and dry it off correctly. You can also use ceramic coating or any typical UV, hard water protection that's vinyl safe. I have Matt color vinyl; I'm sure satin and gloss also fall under this.

Did you get pulled over a lot? & if you did…. Police gave you a problem because it was black before?

No law about changing your car color, even if you renew your registration you don't have to claim the new color since it's just a wrap and still has the original color underneath. All you have to do is show your door jams to the cop who doesn't really care. Now colors that can be an issue is Crome or chromatic cause it can blind other drivers (sun/lights reflection).
