1 Year With The Mamiya RB67

Shortly after my one year anniversary with the Mamiya RB67, take a look back through the last year and a retrospective on my experience using the camera to photograph, from friends and family to landscapes and bathrooms.
The Mamiya RB67 is a professional medium format film camera released by Mamiya in 1970. Capable of taking film photos with incredibly high levels of clarity and detail, the 67 stands above it's competition for it's relaibleness and consistency. Being fully manual, the camera is less prone to electronic failure than it's younger brother, the Mamiya RZ67.
All of this is well and good but, it all depends on the photographer, and sometimes the photographer takes 7 months to start being good with the camera...

Thank you man I really appreciate it!! Currently I’m using a Mamiya-Sekor 65mm 4.5 (with conversion it equates to a 33mm on 35mm format). Looking to get a less wide lens in the future though, what lens are you using?

The RB shines being in a studio on a tripod. Get a stepstool when using a tripod and things will be much smoother

Thank you man i need to start remembering my tripod! Always on the lookout for a prism viewfinder for the RB but had no luck finding a decent priced one so far ;(

Thank you! Probably not to a complete beginner to film photography, there’s a lot of nice 35mm point and shoots that are automatic and very intuitive, but for people looking to step up to medium format it’s a very good camera to showcase what medium format is capable of. Personally, I had disposables, then a point and shoot, then a 35mm SLR and then got the RB67 :)
