Designed to Know God I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless-like chasing the wind. (Ecclesiastes 1:14) It isn’t that unusual anymore to hear about another celebrity who overdosed or another celebrity who has checked into a drug rehab unit-or, tragically, has committed suicide. It’s hard for us to understand how people living in a Tinseltown world could be miserable. But they have the same problems we have. The difference is they have a lot of the things that we dream of, yet they see the emptiness and futility of it all. Solomon saw this as well. He wrote, “Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new” (Ecclesiastes 1:8-9) It’s the conclusion that everyone will come to eventually. Of course, we can discover it the hard way, or we can discover it the easy way. We can take God’s word for it, or we can foolishly chase after all the things that, in the end, will leave us empty. And some people who go down that road will lose their lives in the process. You don’t have to find out the hard way. You can come to God, and He will fill the void in your life. We all were born with an emptiness inside. No earthly relationship will fill it. No amount of sex or possessions will fill it. Nor will knowledge or morality or even good, clean living. We were designed to know God. And until you come into a relationship with Him, you will keep coming up empty, time and again, just as Solomon did. When you turn to God in faith and let Him forgive your sins, He will fill the void in your life-a void that only He can fill.

Brad Suarez calorie deficit of 600-900 for 2 or 3 days then do a refeed that's 5% dietary fat, 80-90% carbs, 5-15% protein and you will gain barely any more fat than when compared to a surplus of 3.5 to 4k cals
@bradsuarez2683
@bradsuarez2683 7 жыл бұрын
DBS LLama Why do you think I want to make myself suffer unnecessary torment, I thought refeeds were supposed to be fun? Lets do the math. 5% of 10000 is 500. 500/9 = 55.5 grams of fat. What am I supposed to eat all day sour patch kids and soda?? The only reason these guys barely make it to 10000 calories on these challenges is because of the high fat content of the foods they eat. Besides fat makes food taste so good!!

So in other words, even spontaneous, dramatic increases in caloric intake on occasion (holidays, birthdays, weddings, etc) don't lead to long term fat gain. It's rather the act of a continued caloric surplus that contributes to fat gain and thus people can't gain fat permanently unless they are in a continued state of overfeeding. I'm assuming this is because the adipose cell, even though it may multiply briefly and for a short period of time you may gain fat, unless it has continued support in the form of energy or calories the adipose cells will die off and thus your body won't gain fat if you return to maintenance calories or return to a caloric deficit in subsequent days?

Typically the number of adipocytes only increases (or remains constant). The number doesn't decrease, but they may either increase or decrease in size. They may die off but are replaced at a matching rate (think I remember a turnover estimate of 10% per year).

Not a male or female thing, i'm 6'2 at 205 (super lean) and my girlfriend watched me down 5,350 calories in literally less than 2 hours. To some people food is a passion, that taste makes you happy. Haha although, i have to FIGHT to restrict myself into a cut. I think it might be how you're raised with food, i got tons of servings, and as an adult i had to learn self control. Food. Is. Life.

But I really believe that (and I think you do too) if you had started like Stephanie as in really early in the morning and doing a list of your favourite foods to eat throughout the whole day, it might have been a little less hard and more enjoyable for you. Thumbs up for the dedication! Cheers from Mauritius Island.

I was doing this challenge in amount of couple of days, a 10,000 calorie a day challenge towards healthy foods but somehow mix with unhealthy stuff and i want to listen what kind of food my body wants or crave And also want to know when does my satiety last haha since i become underweight due to Eating disorder, fear of gaining weight...but first it is not easy as pie, we should first fix our mind and relationship towards food then slowly changing your perspective..i stop social media, since that will trigger my ED, then focus on recovering myself, and forgot other people’s body (like comparing myself to the other people) and accepting what my body wants it to be and avoid restricting and stress!!!! It was really a hell-Tough journey we should aim for normal weight to avoid complications, and some other bad issues towards health whether you’re underweight (will cause amenorrhea, bad function of the brain, resulting to shrinkening of the brain mass based on what i read on the article was due to the long starvation caused by restricting which is reallly realllyyy A BAD IDEA) - MY POOR BRAIN😭 or overweight, it’s still the same...it’s not healthy ... (unless you’re already skinny since birth and eat well nutritious foods, well it’s okay, or you’re overweight? It’s okay, just aim for the health and make sure you don’t have any complications or risk of heart disease, SINCE ALL OF US ARE DIFFERENT ! but somehow i learned a lot that RESTRICTING YOURSELF TOO MUCH (LIKE, RESTRICTING YOURSELF FOR THE LONG PERIOD OF TIME) IS NOT WORTH ITTT!!! YES, THAT’S RIGHT! IT’S NOT WORTH IT MY FRIENDDDD And IT’S NOT WORTH IT THAT YOU ARE AIMING FOR UNDERWEIGHT JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID OF GAINING WEIGHT OR AIMING TO BECOME LIKE A MODEL OR BECOME TOO SKINNY LIKE KPOP IDOL, IT’S NOT WORTH IT! AND Don’t be too GREEDY MY FRIEND, DON’T AIM FOR THE PERFECTION BECAUSE WE CREATED GOD IMPERFECT! “HEALTH”IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT! Accept what your body wants to be (even though you’re on the healthy weight and still looks fat and chubby, or your body is a body builder muscle type, it’s OKAY!!!! YOU’RE FINE AND YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!😭😭 DON’T AIM FOR THE BODY WHICH IS NOT EVEN YOURS, or just because you aim just to look skinny and aesthetic IT’S NOT WORTH IT ! you have to pay a price after that which is YOUR HEALTH! then don’t ya ever sacrifice your own HEALTH! Just for the sake of f*cking society standard! Ohhh f*ck society standard! I’M OUT MAN! I’m thanking God that he wakes me up from the deep hole of eating disorder and making me realized that what i was doing WAS WRONG! (because i was having constant fear and obssessed towards for food) counting calories, over exercising , really low calorie diets, aiming to have perfect body, aiming to be really skinny- which is I DON’T WANNA GO BACK..😭😭😭😭 we should accept ourselves and love our body... and respect it.. “YOURE BEAUTIFUL” (this is what i always remind myself from now on) And also we don’t know how much time we could spend in this world.. instead of focusing too much on your physical attributes or insecurities, why don’t you search for the other stuffs other than that? There’s more interesting things other than the weighting scale P.S. i recovered was due to the fact by seeking knowledge and faith, counseling and understand the behind reason of eating disorder and consequences after that of having that kind of ED (eventhough it was tough😅) because any moment you will gonna go back and do your old bad habits or routine ED)but i will just shake my head and telling myself “NO! STOP! “ and studying and understanding nutrition and also i’m thanking for those people who surrounded me and support me (my family) who always cooks delicious and healthy meals for me..
