The GX100 had the BEAMS 2000 which is a 1GFE (what’s found in the IS200 in the UK) 150ish bhp rather than the 210 found in the 3SGE

The IS300 is the USDM version of the Altezza. The Triple OG came first, and the US and Europe got watered down versions.

I've always liked the sound of a nicely built 1.6/1.8/2ltr DOHC with ITBs and can rev to 9/10/11krpm.. It will never get old. Esp if its from a 3SGE BEAMS/20v Silver Top 4AGE and the Honda B series Type R engines..

23:15 Hot honing is the smartest thing I have heard said aloud on a KZbin channel. You can calculate and simulate the expansion of the pistons and cylinders, but the cylinders will expand unevenly in a non-cylindrical fashion due to varying thicknesses and attachment points from the water jacket, coolant passages, and oil passages. To get an engine to run a hot 10,000RPM you must retain the clearances when....HOT! Love these guys. Make it run on methanol and some real crazy S will happen. Methanol with a road course car is not wise. You will run out of fuel!

That engine is sick. I would definitely swap out the rear end, and keep the old in storage. I have been in Japan since 89", no matter how much you work on the 4AG the weakest link is for sure the drivetrain. Even a engine swap on a AE86 will leave you feeling heart broken, it will just not let all those unleashed ponies hit the road. Old Toyota Town Ace rear made a cheap upgrade. Have fun, hope to see the finished product.

Dont gotta add oil to the oil filter unless it's a fresh build.. residual oil in the system will prime it b4 the car starts. At most, oil the gasket and screw it on.

Beams are so slept on.... especially with a rack of ITB'S or DCOE's hanging off the side for that sweet, sweet music....or better yet, taking a DCOE manifold, sourcing a set of Keihin FCR or Yoshimura tuned FCR's and slapping _those_ extra musical bastards on.... you ain't heard music until you heard _that_ chatter and howl on a high strung 4cyl like a Beams, B16/18, SR, or an Alfa Twin Cam Busso 4cyl 🤤

Love the alfa 4 pots. The Nord engine sounds so good with twin carbs. IMHO the best sounding 4 pots. They sound even better than the twin spark that followed it. The busso is the best sounding v6 ever made. The bark and the sound of the intake makes me melt. Such a shame the cars of today don't sound as heavenly anymore

300 hp from a well mannered NA 2.0L is wild. This type of stuff is why I love built NA engines. I’ve modded my S52 to make about 300 hp, but it’s a 3.2L and I bet its torque curve is nowhere *near* as nice as this, haha.

This just shows you how efficient Yamaha designed 5V heads are.... I HAD a 12.4:1 Porsche 924 Turbo NA hybrid (hemi turbo head, 12.4:1 pop-up pistons) on PHH44'S MSDS 4-2-1 headers and a big 292* cam, dropped 8# rotational asswmbly and clutch and only got 215HP out of it with 2V heads.. So 300 from 11:1 thats mighty impressive.... Good job yo

I had a 80 corolla with the 3tc engine. In I believe 87 or so the fastest Toyota was featured on a magazine it was a 80 corolla with a holy mother of God built 3 tc in it was something like 6's on the 1/4 mi. Strip. It was crazy . My corolla was nuts with the 3 tc motor slammed to the ground I could corner like no one with it. Big on the old nugget rims it looked pretty cool... I miss it

I ended up putting the louver kit on the windows. And let me tell ya as far as stereo hoed nothing better than a hatchback 2x the sound on half the power...😅
