The problem *are* the Islamic sources. Fundamentalism isn't a problem if what you believe is peaceful to begin with. But if you 'fundamentally' believe in amputations (Qu'ran 5:38), lashings (Qu'ran 24:2) and unequal inheritance for women (Qu'ran 4:11), then of course it's problematic. The problem isn't fundamentalism, it's the fundamentals of Islam.

The Islamic texts are *not* peaceful and *not* moral, when is this finally going to get through to you Syed? Muhammad personally amputated arms (Sahih Bukhari 8:81:787). Personally took women captive as 'spoils of war' like Safiyah (Sahih Bukhari 5:59:512). Personally believed in unequal testimony for women (Sahih Bukhari 1:6:301). Personally lashed people (Sahih Muslim 17:4226). If you literally emulate amputations, capturing women as spoils of war, unequal inheritance for women and lashings in the 21st century, tell me what do you get?

Then I invited them publicly. 9. Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly. 10. And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 11. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 12. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 13. What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 14. While He has created you in stages? 15. Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers. 16. And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 17. And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 18. Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 19. And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 20. That you may follow therein roads of passage.' " 21. Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss. 22. And they conspired an immense conspiracy 23. And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa or Yagh´th and YaÔ´q and Nasr.' 24. And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error." 25. Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers. 26. And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant. 27. Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever. 28. My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction."

How Islam is a religion of peace? read what The Messenger of Allah says in the following verses. Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship but Allah). Whoever says La ilaha illallah, his wealth and his life are safe from me except for a right that is due, and his reckoning will be with Allah." You can see the things by your eyes, but you are unable to sell out your eyesight to others like material things. Hadith Sahih Al-Bukhari in Islam also shocked the civilized world with Mohd's abnormal sex drive after his first wife died: Mohammed had a sex strength equal to 30 men after his first wife died: He could satisfy sex for 9 wives in one night or 11 wives during one day and night ! (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 1:5:268 and Vol. 7:62:142)

Azeemi - If you understood that aggressive teaching for one Islam only, then the Quran author was exposed this being was NOT a loving, merciful god, but a provocative, biased, violent god. So, when Islamic apologists called Islam is a religion of peace for political correctness, they exposed a great joke and a great sarcasm?!! For Jesus in the Bible, He rejected the view from the Quran author at least 2 issues: (1) Jesus in the Bible rejected the human view about him as a prophet only at his time.(Matthew 16:13-17, Mark 8:27-29, Luke 9:18-20). (2) Jesus called who disbelieved or denied His death and resurrection for human concern was SATAN (Matthew 16:23, Mark 8:33). Then by Jesus, who was the Quran author now? The Holy Qur'an says in its Chapter 2, Verses 2 This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guide for the righteous. 6 As for those who disbelieve-it is the same for them, whether you have warned them, or have not warned them-they do not believe. 7 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. They will have a severe torment. 268 Satan promises you poverty, and urges you to immorality; but Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself, and grace. Allah is Embracing and Knowing.
