Being under the weather for a few days has really thrown me off, and it's not a good feeling at all. As a Scorpio, being of the water sign, I just can't survive too long off the water-it's like I'm missing a part of myself when I'm not out there. The longer I stay landlocked, the more it feels like something’s off balance.
So, I decided to challenge myself. Even though I wasn’t feeling 100%, I knew I had to get back out there. I prepped the Bay Flat Jr, matched up with the Yamaha Nightmare Machine, and set my sights on Bayou Liberty. My goal wasn’t just to make a trip-I wanted to see if I could do it solo and push through the sluggishness. It was a bit of a test of willpower and endurance, but also a way to reconnect with the water, my natural element.
Another objective for this solo mission was to have a pre-season practice run of the Lake P Troll techniques and presentations. With the season right around the corner, I needed to work out all the kinks, test different setups, and fine-tune my approach.
The Lake P Troll isn’t just about casting a line-it’s an art form. I wanted to make sure I had the right lures, the right presentation, and that all my gear was dialed in perfectly. It’s important to iron out the imperfections now before the real action starts.
It wasn’t just about survival-it was about refining the craft, getting back to my roots, and making sure everything’s aligned for the months ahead. Plus, there’s something about going solo that forces you to trust your instincts and rely on your experience. No distractions, just you, the boat, the water, and your thoughts.

 Easy to launch.
 Yamaha Nightmare Machine better, only (7) pulls to get her started. Me think it was the old fuel hose & bulb that was the problem all these years.
 Route to lake clear no obstructions.
 Located water depths, channels & drop offs in bayou Liberty.
 Located areas for strike zones.
 Depth finder / GPS working fine, able to keep Bay Flat Jr right in water edge drop off zone all the time.
 Got to try out new pole Big Ronnie, (aka Troutmaster ) gave me it had a broke tip section, but me thi8nkg it will make a fine pole for Lake P Trolling.
 Confirmed me inventory, (i.e., green squids, ping/orange squids, ¾ oz. jig heads, and # 4 red trouble hooks) of Lake P Troll tackle, me good.
