When u have drawn a graph between V and length so its not passing through origin and voltage is 12 or high when length is 0 or less so how they directly related
@heratan2151

the origin will gonna be starting from L, so if u reflect the graph u can see their relationship

when V=12 R=0 since all energy is still there , but across the l it's gonna dissipate all the voltage.

so R is the max when V is the lowest (0)

Take it as gravitational potential energy, if there isn't a difference in heights, the ball won't fall

How can you say that V is proportional to L but you draw a graph that suggests otherwise? Aren't you contradicting yourself?

Because she is measuring potential and not potential difference . If there was no length then there would be no resistance hence no V drop so 12 before and after is same hence 0. But because she is measuring potential here so even at length 0 , she measures 12 v . I hope this is understandable and can someone also plz tell me if I am correct

I understand ur struggles, btw what she means is: 1. V here is the potential difference (energy used to push the charge across x=0 and L) is proportional to the length , since as L increases, R increases and more V needed to push the charges across the L) 2. Since potential & potential difference are not the same, the graph she draw is the potential value at any x on the wire. 3. to make this easier i think we may use delta V for p.difference and V for potential value
