Mental illness isn’t being protected, as you say. It is being acknowledged which has been part of most country’s laws for centuries. If our society, especially US society, actually gave easy and supportive access for support and medication and follow up there would be far less of these crimes. You are demanding that someone who had little to no understanding of reality be punished for something they may not even understand. I do not believe that these folks shouldn’t face punishment for their actions. But we need to be aware that what that punishment looks like will be different than someone who is, say, a life time gang member who enjoys hurting people. Or sociopaths/serial killers. Vindictive, unaware punishment doesn’t help society be a safer place.

# 2 Dimitry Goldfarb wasn't sucker punched. He was harassing that guys girlfriend and followed them down the boardwalk. Thats why he got hit. Dimitry had a record longer than my arm, was a regular in the drunk tank, and had a history of fights. After Dimitry got hit, the guy walked off and didn't attack any further. There's a reason the charge was manslaughter and not murder. Kyle never had intent to kill him, only to defend himself, but it still resulted in Dimitry's death overall.

A common theme for this one is cowardly men attacking women. Ladies, even if you live in a Country or state that does not allow guns or knives, a plan to protect yourself is crucial to fight back. If you live in an area where you can carry a gun, get training, a quality holster, practice often and be willing to use it to live. Self defense should be a human right.

I lived in Logan Circle when Martinez was killed. Less than a block from where she was stabbed. It was during the height of the pandemic and was a complete shock. Sad and senseless crime. So many drug attacks hang around that area but it is an amazing neighborhood.

Think America is the only country that will send someone to jail for not paying child support. Other governments understand that you can't pay child support if your in jail and unable to work. Where I live. The government will pay and then you pay the government back. It builds up so either way. If you don't pay when the person is a child. You'll pay when they are an adult. That and they'll just send a letter to your employer and take it that way.

We teach algebra but not taxes, we teach them to hide in shootings and natural disasters but not to defend themselves against a threat and it's 1000% because of litigation. If X taught Y how to defend themselves within a public system paid by the taxpayer that ended up injuring Z then the lawyers would crawl over it like maggots on a body. Sad, stupid world we live in.

In #1, the Cornelius/Marsh case, that is absolutely PATHETIC. All of their attackers/murderers were in their 20s, they all know better, but just plain didn't give a shit. I'm glad that all of them got over 300 years, combined. They deserve every second of that time. Personally, I think they ones who actually did the killing part of it should get death. Hannah and Cheslin didn't do anything at all to provoke the guys or anything - they simply wanted to torture someone so they did. I've always said that the only way we're ever gonna get a grip on crime is to give the offenders the same treatment as they gave their victims. I guarantee you that these wastes of skin wouldn't even DREAM of doing half of the shit that they do, should they have to face the same kinda punishment. Perhaps we could go a tad bit more viciously with the payback part.....then maybe they'd think twice before attacking anyone else. That'd be a HUGE gift to the victims, I think....as they say, payback's a mother f*cker. :D
