Your recipe at number 3 is probably the best for me. Its everything like about the April method but inverted and without the uneccessary bloom. I can't justfy some of the other 30g per cup recipes. However... I recommend trying the Bould Brothers recipe over ice replacing the added water with 100g+ of ice! Thanks Carl

I’m a big fan of the Fellow Prismo, personally, mostly because it makes the process less fussy. It’s nice not having to worry about things dripping or have to do obnoxious inversion things.

Have you tested Tetsu Kasuya’s AP method (normal, not inverted)? With bloom and pulse pour, and pressing at 3mins. The initial grind size I used was resulting in a small bitterness so I kept grinding coarser and coarser , slowly over a few days, then I got to the grind size without bitterness (but then the taste was a little weak). So I increased the ratio a bit, from 1:15 to 1:13.33 and then it really was perfect and it brings up the notes clearly. It’s now my daily driver.

I’m always confused on the times. Like for example recipe #2 says start timer, pour, stir, let sit for 60 seconds. Is that from the time you start the pour or 60 seconds after you stir? I wish recipes would be more clear on that.

Have had a lot of trouble getting aeropress recipes to taste how I'd like them to... had some really good ones at Coffee Collectif in CPH and at Heart in Portland, but it was years ago... not so much success at home. Will have to try some of these out! Great video. Nice to have the recipes all in one place. I have an idea/request for another video... do you think you it could be a good resource for viewers if you lined up common Comandante grind sizes with the Ode's equivalent? For instance, 30 clicks on an Comandante = 2.2 on the Ode, etc. Haven't really seen any videos providing those kinds of guides across equipment. Cheers.
@coffeewithcarl17794 жыл бұрын
Could be really cool with a giant grind size guide on all the grinders available. I don’t have the Ode anymore as I just borrowed it from a friend. Thanks for watching!

apart from your great videos and recipes, any recommendation regarding original aeropress vs go edition? I want to go for go edition but have the fear of being not as stable as the original one for both classic and inverted methods cuz of the smaller base..and also if the reduced ounce (in go edition) will affect the recipes can be done with original one?? Thx in advance

I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with the go recipe.

Don't tap when the aeropress is on the weights it will ruin the weights. In general, don't press or tap the weights since they are sensitive
@coffeewithcarl17794 жыл бұрын
I know! It was a mistake. I never do it normally but filming can be a bit chaotic so I guess I just forgot to remove the weight one of the times. Thanks for watching!

Don’t press down on your scales. You may damage the load cells as they are fairly delicate. Cool vid though.
