Andrew Wallington . I have no hate for Melissa or the other females . In my opinion Fans 1#- Thinks if their was another movie..the originals should of gotten it..even if they wrote out bill Murray and put in a different person .like a family or friend in the story criteria. But Columbia ...turned down a 3rd. 2nd- Movies like GB should not be rebooted in fans perspective.especially after Harold ramis death. Slimmer and Gozer was cgi. And some other things...but Paul fieg went all Michael bay and not attempt to making it as good as 1&2 . Especially towards the end when all the ghost was on the loose . Movies like GB should be left alone especially from reboots . Mortal Kombat is being Rebooted by James Wan. And locations are already being planned for scene filming.. Even though James Wan is pretty awesome at his movies... I'm sure alot of fans are concerned. Mk1 movie was awesome..part 2..Not so much... But still fans watch it.. Being one of the best games since the 90s and a reboot is now in mode for movie... It's very very hard to please the fans especially in Ghostbusters and other movies like it. We consider one and 2 of the Ghostbusters a masterpiece and such masterpiece shouldn't be rebooted..some don't like GB 2 but we watch it . Melissa is hilarious in alot of her movies .a good actress and the others.. that's how my opinion is.

That Ghostbusters game was designed by the legendary David Crane, believe it or not. It was originally made for the Commodore 64 and the other versions are ports. It had to be developed in 6 weeks because the movie was already in theaters by then, so they converted a game named Car Wars that was already in development into a Ghostbusters game. It sold well at the time and was well reviewed, although there were a few dissenting voices including Ernie Hudson himself. The NES version came out four years later and is generally considered to be a bad port, but the Atari 2600 version is considered to be pretty good so take that how you will.

Here's one might now have known: In Ghostbusters II, when the Ecto 1 is shown making loud bangs (called "backfire") as Stantz drives it with Zeddermore riding with him in the beginning, those aren't sound effects-those are real, as the same Ecto 1 from the first one was being used in the second one, and it showed real signs of running rough.

It is downright ridiculous that some people are incapable of distinguishing between a character played out on a screen, and the real-life actor who brings the character to life. The fact that the haters couldn't separate William Atherton from his performance (almost like Jack Gleeson after his portrayal of Joffrey from Game of Thrones) speaks to a level of detachment from reality that cannot be healthy.
@mattjindrak5 жыл бұрын

Jack Gleeson aka Joffrey is the nicest guy in the world. It is a testament to an actor if they can make you hate their character so much.
@oldenweery75105 жыл бұрын
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 Yes, my dad was a guy who despised actor Victor Jory, an actor of the '30s through the '80s who often played villains. I tried several times to explain to him that it was a sign of his ability to get the audience to hate him, but he wouldn't have it. Actually, Jory played a police detective in an excellent TV series, "Manhunt," in 1959-'61. Soap opera stars had a tough time with the fans who couldn't seem to grasp the concept of acting.
@legionarybooks135 жыл бұрын
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 , it was the same with Iwan Rheon, who portrayed Ramsay Bolton. Joffrey and Ramsay were two of the wickedest characters on the show, yet played by the nicest actors. On a side note, Iwan is also an accomplished Welsh folk singer. :)

He was a weird addition to the story. Not Hudson's fault, he's a good actor but there wasn't much for him to do and didn't have the same chemistry with the three main guys as they had with each other. I always felt kind of bad for him. Even in the pan and scan version where they could only fit 3 of the 4 in the shot, he'd be left out.

One of my favorite behind the scenes stories is what they pulled on Atherton during filming. The scene near the end, when Peck gets marshmallow cream dumped on him? Yeah, just a crane filled with cheap shaving cream; Reitman told Atherton "Just stand over there and act surprised". Then when the camera's were rolling, they dumped the cream; the only warning Atherton had was a metallic clank right above him (hence Peck looking up at the very last second, then trying to shield himself from the cream). My other favorite is when they filmed the "successful test" of the proton packs. They only told the actress playing the maid that her cart was "rigged up to make some noise". They never told her it was loaded with pyrotechnics. Hence, while the voiceover has her saying "What the hell are you doing?", the actress was actually sticking her head out from behind the cart, giving the crew a good, old fashioned ass-chewing.

I couldn't agree more. In fact I imagine a movie that should have been made and that John Belushi should have starred in with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy and John Candy, before his death. And its called The Land of Gorch, an SNL Muppet movie directed by Jim Henson and released in 1982 3 years before Ghostbusters. Wouldn't you love to see that movie if it was made?

I remember reading original prints of the first draft of ghostbusters and I can't help but think that Dan Akroyd wanted to make a Lord of the rings/Star Trek kind of ghost movie. Like ghosts are more common than house pests, Dimension traveling is like taking a subway train and Ivo Shandor isn't the villain, but rather an inter-dimensional employee of the ghostbusters. Also, there was no Egon in the first draft and Winston was originally named Ramsy. I know that the ghost lore and proton pack physics came from his personal knowledge, although I really don't understand where Dan got the inspiration to set the movie in the future. Although this script seemed impossible to make back in the day, maybe in the far distant future, while either get a comic book or big budget movie adaptation of Dan's original draft.
