Paul, just want to say thank you for this video, not to mention all the others. I had a health problem for a couple of months and really missed your postings. The troll with the disparaging remarks was quite mistaken. I have done some reading about Monet, watched an extensive documentary on his life, visited the Marmatton, Musee D’Orsay, L’Orangerie and Giverney;, but still I learned new things from your video. Thanks again.

Monet had such an interesting and varied life. I'm sure you had a tough time choosing which ten facts to use. You could easily come up with ten more, I'm sure. As a lifelong, card-carrying Monet Freak, I say, "Well done, sir!"

About fact n*4 in french his painting is "impression sur soleil levant" the person who criticized him actually made a joke about that one painting saying, if it's just impression let's call them impressionist ! And the thing is it wasn't really a group consensus, it was mainly made from Monet.

I took my daughter to the Dayton art institute a couple years ago. To see some barrowed paintings from Claude monet. I take her to the art institute every time they get paintings on loan from other art galleries. Claude most have been a thinking kinda guy in my opinion.

Impressionism and luminism become my favorite painting styles after knowing about the spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla. It's said that he used to get inspired by russian traditional paintings. No doubt the french as well since he used to go to french beaches with his family as a painter. I learned to value Monet and Toulouse Lautrec more this way, and that's how I got to visit your channel. ⭐Cheers ⭐😁 Love your narrative videos⭐.

I don’t know about oil painting. The reason I think it is a Monet is because it is beautiful and the scene is looking out through his studio windows. The scene is of a table covered with white lace tablecloth, beautiful flowers all around. On the table is fruit, tea service, floral arrangement and other things.

Always thought Monet was overrated! MANET, Renoir, etc were so much more authentic... also not too crazy about Monet's personality, arrogance, lies, interest in luxuries...he painted what others wanted in the end, as far as sales. In USA they revere him, in a mainstream way. Need I say more? That's just my opinion
