The more I listen to Pantera the more I catch little moments like that. In the song Piss, Vinnie really changes the whole feel while Dime plays the chorus riff just abt the same. It has a really cool effect on the feel of the song. That and no one seems to get the drumming quite right on Becoming. They get close but always a little off. That and 13 Steps have the sickest drum intros

I feel that Pantera was the pinnacle of Metal as a broad genre. It’s hard to describe, but they hit a sweet spot at the top of the curve.

It's because everybody was incredible with their instrument. Dime and Vinnie are a given, but Rex's bass was fucking killer too. Add Phil's vocals on top of all that and this is really the greatest metal band ever.

Slaughtered is a pretty well know song, but most people forget about the part they played and only focus on the main riffs. The double paradiddle groove with Dimebag's evil sounding syncopation is Dime and Vinnie Magic at it's finest.

Pantera is riff stack after riff stack. To play one Pantera riff thoroughly is to risk committing to the whole song. What we need is Pantera cover channel. BDBD is nearly my favorite Pantera song, but then again so is Regular People, and honestly every single track off the first 4 albums.

I love that guitar 'solo' if you could call it that, its like a fucking layer cake, it really sets the tone for the record. So bluesy, southern rocky and thick, always been one of my favorites. 10s too, and of course Floods...that album has a special place in my heart.
