reason umpire like that is because he's thinking what to do. Traditionally you're meant to only replace bats at end of over, so if it's too broken to use, the batsman's only option is to use his batting partner's bat till end of over. But that's rather gone out window recently, umpires letting people change stuff all the time

😊I do not believe the willow is of inferior quality, it means the wood is sweeter and the most pure centric trunk willow with max grains, maybe more than 18 grains which tend to ping balls like missiles but break sooner😊

Yeah, they are some crappy bats! They’ve probably had to start using the actual sponsors bats! Everyone used to use one guys bats and put the sponsors stickers on it. All and made and balanced to your specifications. Can’t for the life of me remember his name but I had one of his bats, and no way it would brake like these.
