As someone who is literally waiting for his very first guitar to be delivered my goal is to get to the point where I can play Thunderstruck by ACDC.
@nozzie16404 жыл бұрын
It will definitely take some time to get to that point, (assuming that you're playing it like it is on the studio version by picking with the right hand and fretting with the left hand and not just tapping) you need a decent amount of hand dexterity to get it to full speed and pretty good hand coordination. I was able to play just the left hand of the song (what most people play) pretty quickly into my guitar journey but it took me a decent amount of time to gain good enough hand coordination to pick the individual notes. As someone that is a primarily jazz/blues player, I recommend setting your goals to improvise up and down the neck, around chord changes, and through all 12 keys rather than being extremely technically proficient (The technical skills that you need to play impressive (until you understand the guitar better) songs like that will come with practicing your improvisational skills). Not practicing this sort of stuff directly after I was able to pick and fret really stunted my progress and I felt like I made not much progress in my first 3 or so months of playing (over 5 years now). You definitely shouldn't practice this as much while you are just starting and definitely not straight away (you have to be somewhat comfortable with your playing first) but good improvisation is a skill that will carry you through your musical career. I generally try to aim to practice guitar for 2-3 hours a day (But I sometimes get caught up with other stuff so its sometimes just a couple minutes or no time at all) but as you're starting out I recommend practicing for 0.5 to 1 hours a day so that you don't get burnt out from playing so much. Good luck on your journey, I wish the best for you :).
@bagenius59704 жыл бұрын
Use hammer-ons and pull-offs. It's easier and when you play it with one hand, people that don't play think it's the coolest shit ever. You can play it with your left hand and be scrolling through tik tok or texting someone with your right at the same time

I don't want to be rude or anything and I'm not trying to put anyone down, but like your playing (mainly rhythm and timing) suggests that you're still sort of a beginner (definitely not bad but like maybe barely an intermediate-ish player). I'm not saying that you shouldn't be making videos to try and help out new people to guitar but it seems as if you aren't qualified yet. (Once again not trying to put anyone down so don't get at me in the comments section defending her, I think shes made good progress but I'm just not sure if shes made enough progress to be able to really help newer guitarists). (edit:) Not saying that you don't practice the songs, but you should definitely practice them even more just to the point where the timing is much more on point. Also as some other people have pointed out, try not to hold the pick as hard and create more fluidity between the notes (this will come with more practice of the individual songs/riffs) your playing in a few songs (Namely: Always on the run and Sweet Home Alabama) seems very staccato-like which comes off kind of jarring to the ear.
@BriddahOnFire4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. But it's sad we have to be so extremely careful to give positive criticizm because many people immediately confuse it with insulting or rudeness.
