Just to cover in a bit more detail about the differences in sensors needing different focal lengths for anyone wanting to know. APS-C sensors, which are normally on cheaper cameras, are smaller than full-frame. APS-C has a crop factor of around 1.6 so this means a 16mm lens on an APS-C sensor is around 25mm (not wide enough for RE) so that’s why it’s recommended that you get a 10mm lens which is a focal length of 16mm on a cropped sensor. Hope that makes sense!

What Lense do you use for you canon, and do you think it might be compatible with the M50?

Eli uses the 16-35mm lens which is an EF mount (mounts to Canon DSLRs), the M50 is a mirrorless camera (not DSLR) and so you’ll need the Mount Adapter “EF-EOS M”. Eli uses a mount adapter here in this video.

Also, the M50 is an APS-C sensor so you’ll need the 10-22mm or 11-24mm lens.

There is a Canon EF-S 10-16mm IS STM. It'll work with an EF-EOS M adapter. There's also a Canon EF-M 11-22mm that'll work without an adapter, but this extra millimeter might make a huge difference

The 11-22mm on the M50 will be ~18-35mm due to the 1.6 crop factor, the extra 2mm should be ok though for REP especially if you’re just starting out but personally I would avoid any doubt and get the 10-22mm EF-S as it’s around the same price anyway.

For that lens we recommend the Canon EFM 11-22mm! Since the M50 is a mirrorless camera the lens mount isn't the same on the 10-22 or any of those other canon lenses.

I think you missed what I said haha, I said shoot compressed or small raw!

Yeah he definitely said small RAW files cause I went to check if my camera saved small raw files (which is does not).

@@iamwillwatson It might have some form of compression you can use! If not its not a HUGE deal, just makes the files take longer to transfer/upload!

@@itselijones I’m using a 200d at the moment until funds allow an upgrade and it only saves JPG and RAW. it’s no biggie.
