@@MurphysGarden After seeing this video I bought an Osmanthus burkwoodii, I didn't knew this plant. Next on my list: Arbutus unedo 'Rubra' . Some of the rest of evergreen trees I already have.

We have one single tree in our field (a village in Namibia, Africa) that's ever green. It's leave never weather, even during the hottest seasons. I'm curious to find out it's name.

Wow, amazing to think that you are watching from Nambia! It must be a very resilient tree, I would be interested to know what it is too, can you Google image the leaf? Thanks for joining us on our little patch in Shropshire, England!

Thank you for a wonderful video. Can you please share where you get your Prunus lusitanica Angustifolia and do you buy it as a standard tree to make shaping into an umbrella shape easier? Thank you

We bought them as small standard trees about 10 years ago (I think). They were quite weedy to start with but filled out over time. They need their cut for this year and we will hopefully get to it soon and I’ll do a video all about them. We buy all our trees from a specialist tree nursery, it is so much cheaper that way and they are healthier too as they are dug up to order and aren’t sitting about in a garden centre. They are great trees, love and highly recommend Thanks for watching Jenny

Hello Jenny, I’m so glad I’ve found your channel it’s very helpful to me, I have lots of garden like you and have been creating it for years, I’ve sort of Got the walls, paths, hedges in place now and I’m getting on to the planting and trees now, everting takes so much time as you know. I’ve bought a Portuguese Laurel tree, it got delivered last week, I want to shape it like you have done yours, I’m disappointed at the size of it, it should have been much bigger 🙉 it’s about 5 feet tall and the stem is only 4/5 cm, what I would like to know, is how fast they grow, how long have yours been in and how long did they take to get to your trees size and when did you start trimming into the shape, the head on mine is only about 2 feet. Thanks again for your lovely videos, I look forward to more.

Hi Wendy Lovely to hear from you. Our Portuguese laurels were about the same size as yours when we planted them. We planted them in December 2013 and on a video called ‘How I designed my garden part 1’ at 9:49 there is a picture of what they looked like. Although that was ten years ago now they took about six years to get to a good height and to fully fill out. I guess we started cutting and shaping them at about year 4 or 5. We have to really cut ours back hard now as they are getting big, I recommend allowing them plenty of space, ours are planted a bit close. We are just about to cut them back and I will do a video on them Thanks for watching Jenny I’ve just popped out to measure them and they are 2.7m at the base of the umbrella shape, so allow for yours to get big, even though it’s hard to imagine when it’s small! Also, just checked out your instagram, your garden is fabulous as are your beautiful cakes 🎂!!!
