I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but if you made a shape with the fill color and border that you like, as long as you are clicked on that shape, you can then create a new shape and it will also already have the same fill and border that you just made!

Hi Amy! I've personally found that adding KZbin videos to Google Slides will bypass the ads when you're playing them from a Google Slides slideshow. But, as Wendy mentioned, you can use other websites like Safeshare that prevent ads from being played. Hopefully that helps! Thanks for watching! 🖤

I have learned that creating a master slide is SO important so students cannot manipulate the slide.

Yes! It used to be called "master slides" but now Google Slides calls it "themes".... it's a great way to lock things into the background of the slide so students can manipulate just the text boxes or other items on top!

If the internet tends to be spotty at your school, it's probably worth it. But, if this rarely happens, it may not be a priority... if that makes sense.

I was looking through TPT's seller's info, and it said inserted KZbin videos were not allowed. "our policies do not permit you to use embedded videos, including, for example, KZbin videos, unless you have permission (like a license).Aug 1, 2022" I see so many sellers include them anyway, so I wonder if TPT actually enforces this. Also, I'm assuming when you post a slide deck on TPT that includes music that was uploaded from your Google Drive, you have to make sure to not delete that out of the Google Drive. Doesn't the Google Drive get full quickly if you have a lot of products? I assume you purchase more storage

Extra info about file available offline option on iPhone ; If you want to use your iPhone to do a slideshow to a projector or to a MacBook (via QuickTime and a direct USB cable, for example), you will need an Internet connection to perform the Google Slides Slideshow, even if the Google Slide file has been set as available offline on the iPhone ; I discovered this problem a few weeks ago.

If you use an mp3 audio instead of a video audio you can put the audio icon off the slide entirely and it will still play. If you want audio from a video try using a KZbin to mp3 converter 🙂

I really liked this video. I love Google Slides and am quite good with it but I learned a few things. Instead of using «copy» at the end of the URL, I like using «template/preview ». It gives the person who is going to make a copy see a preview of what they will be making a copy of.

When you are trying to link to another slide or other available something or other...and dropdown falls off your desktop and have to move stuff around or enlarge the screen...well. what I do, is just type on the line "Slide 4" and it pops up at the top so I can click on it. I'm an ESL teacher and I want my 1st-3rd grade students to be able to practice their speaking skills by recording themselves within Slides. For example, I inserted a picture. Now if we could only get GC to do the substitutions shortcut for naming assignments. I do your Rainbow method for days of the week. I use fruit emojis. The first year I used dots and parents got worried when they saw red dots because they didn't know what it meant. No one gets worried about strawberries though. =) I end up switching things around frequently day to day and since I'm secondary I have 6 sections.

Do you ever have trouble with a slide deck running very slowly because the deck is very large? I've gone to a deck for each week of a reading unit, with an additional deck of all the weekly slides I copy from each day to pull in specific slides I want each day. Hopefully that makes sense.

At this time, there isn't a super easy way to set a "default" font in Google Slides. Basically, you'd want to create a theme that has the fonts/colors you want to use. Then, you can either select that theme when you create a new set of Slides or you can make a copy of a set of slides with that theme already applied. Hopefully that helps (and hopefully Google adds the default font option to Google Slides soon).
