The T-38 was introduced in 1962, when it immediately claimed the world record for time to climb to 40,000 feet from a dead stop in under 2.0 minutes. I am currently 74 years old and flew the T-38 during my training in 1974. The T-38 is still in service and is flown by NASA astronauts. The record is short and is still out on the KAI T-50.

A modern trainer must provide the pilot with flight hours of realistic mission training FOR CHEAP, since the costs related to fly real first line combat aircrafts is insane. Mixed trainers/light fighters like the T-50 are inevitably more expensive to fly than dedicated trainers. They are often chosen by second-rate military aviations, to have combat aircrafts for cheap, but not by first-rate ones, that already have a lot of modern first-line fighters and need a dedicated trainer for them. Goshawk is a copy of a Yugoslavian G-4 Super Galeb. During the late 80's US are ordered 2500 trainers from Yugoslavia. But because of the war in the 90s, they copy G-4 and make T-45 Goshawk. And yes, G-4 is produced under license BAE Systems.

Yak 130 is basically the same thing as Aermacchi M-346 Master. It was a joint Russian-Italian collaboration.
