They use echos location, similar to bats, that's why they make the crackling sound, so they keep on producing sound to identify which obstacle and or form of matter they are interacting with, hence towards the pier, they sensed change of medium, in like 2 m.

I'm looking forward to Nosferatu. I do enjoy movies that, while fictional, delve into the rich narratives and dramatic elements of myths, urban legends, and religious stories. Even as an atheist, I - hopefully not alone - do appreciate the storytelling, symbolism, and cultural significance these tales offer.

I really wish the alien series would go back to more Prometheus type movies. It prompted so many questions and brought back enthusiasm for the series then they just went back to aliens killing people movies. So sad.
