Honestly I think the more abstract the better. In terms of cinematography, there are so many overplayed channels on here on cinematic visuals. Yet theres not that many in comparison to unique vfx work which is one of the reasons I watch every video you upload.

I like both visual fx and cinematics. Theres a reason why movies like The Avengers are eye catching. It has both effects and cinematic. Dont be fooled on relying on fx. A simple camera movement can sell what a video is trying to convey.

I generally dont like effects in videos for the shear fact that most videos the effects doesnt make sense for the song and visual and most of these videos the footage is awful. I'm a fan of learn your camera first then dive into the effects and use them when it makes sense. not to just add effects to be adding them

90% of vfx used in music videos these days are so corny. Most use it bc they dont have a real cinematic eye and all they know how to do is use a gimbal and the same focal length for an entire video so they have to spice it up somehow. The real will survive in the end. Theres a reason why you cant replicate a colin tilley video
