Real Madrid are literally a luxury club because they’re the only team who can add the best player in the world days after winning the champions league. Kylian Mbappe is now on a team that is already stacked and has proven that with or without superstars, they can win big trophies. In in the last 11 seasons, they’ve won 6 UCL titles including 2 champions league titles in 3 years and he hasn’t won the champions league at all during his time at PSG and even when they don’t need a player they’ll still sign them as they don’t say no to the best players that want to join them, the reality is that for his career, Mbappe needed Real Madrid more than they needed him. There have been periods at PSG where he has been playing more as a center forward than a winger and he doesn’t mind playing there, but he’s always at his best whenever he’s playing off of the left and they already have Vinicius Junior and you’re not kicking Vini off the team just because you have Mbappe now as he has been their best player in their recent champions league winning runs. He’s going to accept playing as a number 9, remember at PSG he has issues with Neymar because he wanted to play on the left not through the middle and Real Madrid can’t have that same issue with Mbappe and Vini. Yes they have Mbappe and there’s no issue with that, but when building a team the profile of a player is the more important thing to look at and when you look at Real Madrid from a footballing perspective they needed an out and out striker more than him. Along with Vini Bellingham and Rodrygo the team needed a pure striker not a guy who can play out wide and risk other positions on the field. This was a signing that they didn’t necessarily need, at the end of the day you still signed Mbappe.
