Houston Alexander used to come up to Sioux City all the time before going to the UFC. There was a bar that basically had unsanctioned fights where you just signed a waiver that said you wouldn't sue if anything happened. They didn't really care how drunk you were, they would let you fight. My friends and I would go just to watch him knock people out. He would knock out 4 or 5 guys a night. You have to keep in mind, even the fighters that didn't have a successful career in the UFC are some of the best in the world, just to get there puts you in a very small percentage of everyone that's competed in combat sports. As fans, when we criticize a fighter that "sucks", we should keep the perspective that they only suck compared to the best in the world, they're still pretty damn good and put in years of hard work to get there.

I’ll tell you what no.1 on the list has a true career to be proud of!!he didn’t retire. He competed and he lost to the best of the best. He should be applauded as opposed to anyone who just ran off tail between their legs. Just like Win lose or draw, Stipe Miocic at 42. Beat everyone. If he loses at 42 to a known PED & narcissistic drug cheat. Who refused to fight him in his prime stating “that is one hard hitting scary guy”…that takes nothing from Miocic but we All know Jon’s picked his time well. Reinier de Ridder (former ONE double champion) warned fighters about this just yesterday because he struggled with ONE. He could have simply been demolished by the champ and been remembered as well as Travis Lutter. But he won the season and then KO'd GSP....he almost won the fight against Matt Hughes and he got a great KO over Frank Trigg. Sure...he retired, but it just doesn't feel like he has one single thing he did followed by an ocean of nothing. He won TUF and THEN won the title. @casillasscorer nonsense. If reyes rightfully won that fight then the ufc couldn't promote Jones the way they do and they never would have let him fight for the hw belt.

Holly Holm is the biggest one hit wonder in MMA. KO'd Ronda Rousey, accomplished nothing of significance in MMA since.
@ricddjdb1219Ай бұрын
Not really she was a top five main stay for the better part of a decade fought for numerous belts and was robbed of another championship against de randimie
@madgavin7568Ай бұрын
@@ricddjdb1219 Yes really, her being top 5 for years means nothing because W135 is the worst division in the UFC. She lost to everybody of note because she just isn't that good, nobody cares about the GDR fight anymore.
@ricddjdb1219Ай бұрын
@@madgavin7568 your logic is flawed lmao. Do you know what one hit wonder means? You win the belt then fall of the face of the earth immediately after. Holly holm co mained three ppvs should of one another belt and was a top five main stay for ten years. And you called her the biggest one hit wonder ever.
@madgavin7568Ай бұрын
@@ricddjdb1219 A one hit wonder is someone who only accomplishes one thing of significance, and does literally nothing of note afterwards. Its got nothing to do with name recognition or notoriety. There are numerous people who are household names for doing only one thing. Holly Holm is the biggest one hit wonder in MMA history. She scored arguably the most famous knockout in MMA history, and achieved nothing afterwards. Stop being an apologist, this is an indisputable fact.
@ricddjdb1219Ай бұрын
@ did u watch the video lmao.. and your saying she’s the biggest in history. Stop. Being in the top ten fighting for multiple champions headlining multiple events. Nearly all fighters would kill for a career like that

If I’m not mistaken Bandejas also has a win over Merab which is an even bigger reason to be in this video
@Tylar122Ай бұрын
No way he beat a 1-1 merab that wasn’t a one hit wonder that’s a win that aged well. Totally different list

Is a win over Alex Caceras considered a 'big' win?
@Glendaal_RAАй бұрын
Sokoudjou should be there (although he got 2 big wins in a row instead of 1) but I remember how everybody would bet their house that he would be champ back in the day just to realize he only got 2 flukes in a row and was nowhere near as good as people expected him to be
