It’s safer blind buying when you have recently started a collection. When you end up later down the line with multiple fragrances that smell very similar you have to start being more selective. Saying that Encre Noire Extreme still remains one of my best blind buys, along with Ben Sherman Signature.

Ash, funny you mentioned Dior Sauvage Elixir. I did a blind buy on a 180.00 2 Oz bottle. Macy's didn't have a tester so I went along with my past penchant for Dior fragrances. When I first smelled it and put it on It was sooo strong and I had that panic-attact type feeling. But then as the oils and my skin/body heat worked their "magic" the scents that came off were euphoric. What an experience! Reminded me of when I first tried Fahrenheit. Worth every penny-a 2 Oz bottle will go a LONG WAY. A lot of bang for the buck.

If you want a great cheap fragrance try Guess 1981 Indigo, I didn't expect much of it because it was cheap but now its one of the blue fragrances I prefer, its fresh and little fruity and musky, perhaps it could also be described that it has a sunscreen vibe. Some fragrance house should make high quality version of it, if it was JPG or Versace everyone would be talking about it.

I’ll join in on Red Tobacco gang. I admit I’ve not smelled anything from Montale yet though. Not a safe blind buy mostly because people complain about how harsh the opening is. But if you’re into this genre of fragrance, the dry down is fantastic and well worth the wait. Hope that helps.

I'm utterly amazed that the tv show 24 inspired a fragrance. I never found Jack Bauer "cool". He wasn't James Bond. He was like a dad government operative. Like i'd get a Miami Vice scent. But 24? Plus though i liked the first season it is more an old lady in flyover state show. Not exactly what i'd guess would inspire men's scents.

Citrus notes, because if they’re chemistry, almost never have a performance beyond 4 hours, unless it’s syrupy sweet citrus - which is usually super artificial smelling.

I blind bought Bleeker St , and let me just say I’ve only worn it twice. I hope I grow to like it, because even though I got it at a great deal and had a gift card on a very reputable discounter (JS) I can’t stand it right now. I might grow to like it but my first impression was to wrinkle my nose up at some note in it.
