Each stormlight book would have to be a 10 episode season. Of course and hour a more per episode. I prefer HBO to do it. But I am ok if Apple makes the show. Mistborn era 1 would of course have to be a 4 movie deal. They can split the last 4th movie up with a mix of the 2nd half of Hero of Ages and secret history.

The Martian was probably the best adaptation. The parts that were left out kept it from being a 9 hour movie :D Also, two trivia bits you might like. Inkheart - Brendan Fraser played the protagonist and was who the author was picturing when she wrote the character. Also, Da Vinci Code - Jean Reno is who he was picturing when he wrote that character and Jean got to play him in the movie. But I agree with you... MOST adaptations suck :D

The two book little known by Guy Johnson is STANDING AT THE SCRATCH LINE & ECHOES OF A DISTANT SUMMER . Little known but captivating reads. The author is the son of Maya Angelou. Both are deceased, but anyone who has read loved both books. Story of two families like the Hatfields and the McCoys in Black. Excellent!!! Try them.

I think Mistborn would work really well on screen. The dark armosphere, world and the magic are doable in my opinion. But Stormlight Archive could easily look cheesy with awful CGI and would probably be canceled immediately haha. Loved the video and agree with everything!

I want to see Dungeon Crawler Carl animated in a similar style to Invincible personally. Especially since I’m sure they could get Jeff Hays to voice Carl and Donut. Also, yes, Rage of Dragons is absolutely incredible and I NEED to see it on the big screen. I think MBJ is too well known for Tau but I agree that he would crush the role. Completely agree that those secret projects should be Studio Ghibli. The books are PHENOMENAL and have such wonderful whimsy that Studio Ghibli embodies perfectly in their style.

A well made Stormlight Archive Show would be so cool! I love RDJ as Hoid for the Stormlight Archive, but I also like the idea of using different actors to play Hoid in different stories (Stormlight Mistborn, etc.). My clear favorite to play Jasnah would be Rebecca Ferguson with dark hair.

I’m deeply in love with the Red Rising series (currently 1/2 through Lightbringer) and as badly as I’d love a HBO live action series of it, I feel like it innately has to be animated. I just don’t see how you can get around the physical disparages of the different colors and viably find a cast for golds that are all men and women over 6ft or far more, and perfect looking, while being competent actors. It would be a body doubling challenge far past what they managed to do practically for the LOTR movie trilogy.

Sanderson has said that they would appear asian in our world. I remember Henry Cavill saying he wanted to play as any character in Stormlight, but would love to be Kaladin. But Sanderson said that an asian would play him

Elend could kinda be anyone haha. Ralph Fiennes would eat up Staff Venture. I have a few other casting choices for the rest of the crew but these are main ones haha.

You nailed it with: "They have to be done right." I believe movies are too much like cliff notes--I would prefer everything as streaming series. Sometimes I feel the golden age of streaming ended somewhere around Season 5 of Game of Thrones. TV writers take too many liberties with the material, even far beyond what adaptation to the medium calls for. Even Villeneuve's Dune duology--the best adaptation of the book yet and fantastic movies--dumbed things down and diverged from the source too much. I am anxiously awaiting the adaptation of my favorite book series ever, the Chronicles of Amber, but I fear I will likely loath the result. I am not sure this silver age of streaming can truly do it justice. In terms of Stormlight, characters from Alethkar and Jah Keved have Asian features, something unfortunately the covers do not accurately portray. I feel Alethkar characters, at least, needs to be cast by an Asian actors and actresses. Even Shallan, who has red hair. The only specific fan casting I can think of is Michelle Yeoh as Navani, Anna Sawai as Jasnah, Daniel Henney as Kaladin.

I loved the whole video but we cannot disagree more on some of the casting. You seems to imagine some of the characters as a lot older especially for Mistborn. I honestly laughed out loud when you suggested Hugh Jackman and especially Henry Cavill. The casting for Rage of dragons is perfect though. Al so i never thought about it but RDJ is so fitting for Hoid.

If watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or DC, or Star Wars, or any LP) has taught me anything, it's that casting is done pretty well by the professionals. Fans (including myself) generally have no idea if an actor can do something. The history of outrage over who got a role, then to be blown away by the performance is extensive.

I think Guy Gavriel Kay'e Sarantine Mosaic duology would be an incredible HBO show in the style of Game of Thrones and Rome, just about a more fantastical version of the Byzantine Empire under Justinian the 1st instead. Iain M Banks' The Culture would be an interesting show. Each book is a standalone and it involves an intergalactic anarchist socialist post scarity A.I run civilisation and those that fight for, live in and fight against it.

I think in Mistborn Sazed should be played by Dwayne Johnson…hear me out. They should use the CGI that they used in Captain America: The First Avenger to make Steve Rodgers look small, then when Sazed uses his magic it could be the real Rock.

I think it's unwise to start a TV show or movie series on an unfinished book saga. GoT is the poster child for that. With that said The Green Bone Saga is easily the one I want to see the most (Fonda Lee has been in talks from what I understand), but I would prefer live action. I think probably a movie series would work best. And of course the Red Rising series is probably the best candidate for a TV adaptation once the series is done.

I’d have to disagree with your castings for Stormlight. I believe the Alethi draw inspiration from Middle Eastern and Eastern cultural ideas Brandon has said in a livestream: “If we did a live-action Stormlight adaptation, we would likely cast Asian characters in a lot of the leads, which is close to what we can get for Alethi, as I imagine in my head. But the skin tone that we put for a lot of the Alethi characters is darker than a lot of Asian people’s skin tone.” Adam Driver and Daniel Craig would cause hysteria in the fandom haha

How many of these titles would be more effectively translated into graphic novels? And then maybe later a TV show or movie? I'm with you on Jade City. ^J^ Faithful adaptation (no changing of plot points, development or character behavior -- and certainly no combining characters into one for the sake of budget, casting choices, or running time) as the rule *should* be the priority. If a producer or showrunner doesn't want to do that in order to explore themes-over-story, then don't call it an "adaptation" -- call it "inspired by" or "a reinterpretation of" or "loosely based on" and make sure all your legal i's and t's are dotted and crossed so the author or publisher of the source material doesn't have grounds for a lawsuit. A "good" adaptation of source material doesn't have to be a scene-for-scene reenactment. But then, why not just make a combination of a full cast audio book + illustrations or full cast audio book + video of specific sequences?

Kelsier should be played by Glen Powell! Also Cavill is way too old to play Elend, he and Vin should be played by young unknown actors. I would cast Jonathan Banks as Clubs even though he might be getting a bit too old, I think him during his Breaking Bad days would have been perfect. Mahershala Ali as Sazed would kill it aswell.

5:36 by the way if stormlight archieve will be a tv show I don’t know if it will be good because of the magic elements. Look at the other fantasy series made that flopped ex wheel of time is not good. GAME of THRONES is a good tv show cause there is barely any magic! First law would be as good as well.
