Slang! We love it here in Britain, and we have a bunch of different ways to express that something or someone is good! So here are ten options, all of them mean the same thing and they are all really used by natives up and down the country!

Though I am not a native speaker of English, I heard and read quite a few of these expressions in various contexts. In example, a board game can be sold in mint condition, meaning it is as good as new. A sound assumption or review is a reasonable assumption or a good and thorough review. Top notch is often used in the context of product or service quality. „Lush“ is actually the name of a British cosmetics retailer that has a shop even in Munich/Germany (that's where I live). I haven't heard of the Bee's Knees though. And that's why I love your videos, Laura. Even on a C1-C2 level there are always things that you can learn as a non-native speaker. And I have learnt a lot about the various British accents thanks to your sick (😉) videos. By order of the Peaky Blinders: I thank you honestly for the fun way of improving my English. Your are an ace for sure 🙂!

I was in high school in California in the 80s. Sick always meant really bad, like it was going to make you vomit. "Don't watch The Fly unless you have a really string stimach... That movie is SICK".

What is behind confusing people on Smashing English Channel with Laura when one is listening her speaking to her worldwide audience? Is it possible in this stylish posturing that is obviously impressive, otherwise? Yes sources say that the medium of instruction is beautiful method of teaching English language dancingly as such teaching is a great artistic experience for the video watchers who can't help engaging with the lecturer....
